Owen stood out to me with his consistency all night long. The Hudsonville offense was finding some success through the air, but he provided that threat on the ground that kept the East Kentwood defense honest. He showed the ability to wear down defenders over time while also displaying the elusiveness to make defenders miss in space.
-Rums with power, keeping his legs churning through contact for extra yardage.
-Great vision to read blocks well and explode into the open space.
-Strong stiff arm, mixed with some running behind the pads punished the defense all night.

Owen was a severely underrated RB last season. He has a major part of Hudsonville’s success, and even had a great 93-yard game in the State Championship.
Haarsma makes his $$$ via his speed. He’s not going to truck or siff arm many people, but he will outrun the vast majority of Varsity defenders. Many, many instances of explosive straight-line TDs from last season. Though, there’s still room to improve.
If Owen is able to continue upgrading his open-field elusiveness while perhaps adding a bit of muscle, he’d be unstoppable. A little more contact balance and power would significantly increase his stock!
