If Hudsonville is going to make it to Ford Field, they’ve got to force pressure, defend the pass, throw the ball effectively, and have sound special teams. Cole is involved with every one of those areas.
A few weeks ago, I took many notes on his play at DB. Against EK and on film, Cole is an incredible blitzer and willing run defender. There are many instances where Cole becomes a free rusher, commonly sacking the quarterback or forcing a quick throw. The first two plays on his Week 1-3 tape are excellent examples. Cole is also a very effective run defender, playing similarly to a linebacker.
Cole also has a ton of offensive tape. It’s a small sample size, but I’m generally impressed with Cole’s athleticism. He’s an open-field threat and can also take the top off the defense.
