Wow did Shuss have a game. He was a driving factor behind the Legend Titan’s defense. The 6’3 200-pound safety had 13 total tackles (5 solo, 8 assisted), 1 TFL, and 1 sack. Shuss has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, and jumping. He was all over the field making plays for his defense. The D.C. ran a safety blitz twice. leading to an incompletion. They ran that play again, and Shuss got a big sack. He has very good mental processing, consistently watching Vodicka’s eyes and putting himself in position to make the tackle. Shuss is a very good tackler, wrapping up the defender and pulling them down. Also, a hard hitter not afraid to lay the boom. Very good in zone coverage. Shows his very good reactionary time to act accordingly. He’s got the size and power to succeed on any college team. Take another look at his film, and there is a lot to see.

Shuss continued where he left off last year for Legend. The 6’2 198-pound safety was all over the place against Columbine. He had 22 total tackles (2 solo, 20 assisted), and 1 TFL. He was used in a multitude of ways this past game. They had him at the LOS rushing, in the box, or as a deep safety. When Shuss was in the deep safety position, he would still be one of the first players to make contact with the ball carrier. He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, and good speed. He’s able to stop and pivot on the dot, redirecting himself towards the ball carrier. His very good strength was on display, he would throw defenders down with ease or hit them hard. Shuss was consistently stopping the run or helping his teammates stop the run. He’s a very a good tackler, and would wrap up defenders towards their center of gravity. He even made some plays on special teams, sacking the placeholder on the fake field goal. Shuss is a phenomenal safety who deserves more eyes on him.

Shuss is a stud safety that has received an offer from Augustana University and is looking to have another standout season to receive more. He is a safety that can come down and play in the box or drop back and play in coverage. He has good hands and can go up and high point the football. He is a good open field tackler and will be another stock watch DB to keep an eye on.

Shuss was another defensive standout that is an explosive player that is smooth in his back pedal and can get out of his breaks quickly to come up and make a play. He is a player that is always around the football and is able to take good pursuit angles to get in on plays. He will be a player to keep an eye on as he is able to support in the running game and can come down with some INTs as well. He is a natural ball hawk and should be on the radar moving forward.

One of the anchors on Legend’s defense, Brody Shuss Brody Shuss 6'3" | 200 lbs | DB Legend | 2025 State CO had an impressive junior year. Throughout the season, the safety accounted for 103 (55 solo, 48 assisted) total tackles, 5 TFL, 2 INT, 7 PD. Brody measures in at 6’2 190 pounds which is great size for a safety. Shuss also was a key contributor to the special teams. Shuss has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, and good speed. Shuss uses this to his advantage and is all over the field consistently. Either creating plays of his own or helping his teammates out. He’s like a heat-seeking missile. Shuss has very good competitive toughness. He plays at a high level consistently. Very good mental processing as well. He demonstrates this by following the QB’s eyes leading to an INT or a pass deflection. He will sit in his zone, locking it down daring QB’s to throw his way. When he plays in the box, he understands which gaps to rush and when. As a special teamer, he’s shown the ability to field the punt within the opponents 20 multiple times, even getting it within their own 5 before. Shuss mainly plays in the zone, but will occasionally come down into the box. Good in run support. Very physical hard-hitting safety. He will come down from his zone and lay the boom on the ball carrier. He is a strong tackler. He wraps the defenders up with his lengthy arms and stop the ball carrier in his tracks. In man coverage, he sticks onto the receiver like glue. He’s able to stay with the WR stride for stride. In zone coverage, he executes his assignments. He stays in his zones and doesn’t trail off. Very good ball tracking skills. He sniffs out the ball like a predator does his prey. If he can’t make the interception, he’ll create a pass deflection instead. He’s an all-around fantastic player, and I’m excited to see what he does in his senior year at Legend.

Shuss has good hands and is explosive when he gets the ball in his hands being able to take it to the house. He has good vision and can anticipate throws, getting into position to knock the ball down or make a play on the ball. He looks for contact and will come create a big collision on the ball carrier. Will be on the radar as a hard hitting safety.

Shuss had a fantastic game against the Rebels, and was a big reason Legend held them scoreless in the 1st half. He accounted for 15 total tackles (8 solo, 7 assisted). Shuss has the prototypical size for a safety. He measures at 6’2″ 190 pounds and he’s only a junior! Shuss has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, change of direction and acceleration/quickness. Brody demonstrates good mental processing by watching the QB’s eyes and either following them or sitting in his zone to make a play. He’s a very hard hitter and will knock the ball out just from a hit. He’s a good tackler, and offensive players will suffocate in his grasp. Great in the run game. Also he made a big play on special teams. Fielding a punt within the 5 to give the defense a chance. I can’t wait to see what he puts together for his senior year.
