, a 6’3”, 205-pound running back from Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, is widely regarded as one of the premier prospects in Nevada’s Class of 2029 and a rising national name to know. With a monster frame and elite straight-line speed for his size, Rayford presents a rare blend of power and explosiveness that makes him a matchup nightmare for defenses. He runs with authority between the tackles but also has the acceleration to pull away from defenders once he reaches the second level. Rayford’s strong offseason has already produced Division I offers from University of Arizona, Southern Methodist University, Arizona State University, University of Hawaii at Manoa, and California State University Sacramento. As he heads to the UA Next Camp Series in Phoenix, Rayford will look to further cement his status as one of the top young running backs in the country with even more offers likely on the horizon.

of Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon is a physically imposing 6-foot-3, 205-pound back who already carries Division I interest from programs like SMU, Arizona, Arizona State, Hawaii, and Sacramento State. Ranked as Nevada’s top RB and #2 overall in the 2029 class, Rayford combines rare size with impressive straight-line speed and burst through the line of scrimmage. He runs with power and balance, consistently breaking tackles while showing the vision to find cutback lanes and maximize yardage. Rayford is equally dangerous in open space, using long strides and natural acceleration to turn routine carries into explosive gains. Defenders struggle to bring him down in traffic, and he pairs physicality with soft hands in the passing game, making him a versatile weapon out of the backfield. With continued development and refinement of his footwork and agility, Rayford projects as a high-impact, three-down back with the potential to excel at the Power Five level.

Rayford is quickly establishing himself as one of the top young running backs in the state with the massive upside he brings to the table. The 6’2″/180 freshman transferred to Sloan Canyon this offseason after showing elite flashes for Bishop Gorman in 2025 and has picked up offers from Arizona, Arizona St., and SMU since the start of the new year. He’s a quick, powerful athlete with all the physical traits of a future D-I playmaker out of the backfield. Rayford is on the breakout radar ahead of his sophomore season with his new program.

in writeups throughout his middle school career, but the kid just keeps on producing. Up to a legitimate 6-foot-2 and 180-pounds with an insane amount of athleticism, Rayford has all the potential in the world to be one of the most dominant players in Las Vegas over the next four years. He recently wrapped up the 2024 season with an MVP performance in the AYF 14U D1 National Championship Game, helping Vegas Strong defeat the Maryland Heat.

Very smooth athlete with a skill set to separate as a running back or wide receiver. Braylon has a long muscular build, combined with a great stride length that eats up yardage quickly. He’s not shy to hit it up in the A gap or head top a defensive back down field.

A prospect with a heck of a story and background, you can’t help but root for him. Rayford decided to reclass ahead of this season and is hitting the ground running. He’s the only non-pure Wide Receiver in this write up, because he often lines up as a Running Back and is Sauce Gardner-like as a Cornerback. He’s reportedly grown two inches since I last saw him in December and is now up to 6-foot-2–which why I feel the move to WR may eventually come. After being a younger member of the 13U Las Vegas AYF All-Stars in 2023, Rayford is back with the Vegas Strong squad and has to be one of the early contenders for a spot in the AYF National 8th grade All-Star Game in February 2025.
