We’ve thought a few times in this process of making Marrow a receiver, as I personally believe that’s his best position. However, he was too productive defensively to limit him to the offense in our rankings. He had six interceptions defensively and used his short-area quickness to put up over 400 receiving yards and 200 rushing yards last year.
Primarily a receiver, Marrow also racked up over 200 yards as a runner and played some free safety. He picked off four passes last year, and West Forsyth deploys him situationally to make the biggest impact possible on the game.
A two-way athlete, Marrow plays in the slot on offense for West Forsyth. As a receiver, I really like the way he drives into his breaks and disguises his routes. He has great speed, and his frame isn’t as lean as his height and weight would suggest. That allows him to fight through contact and make contested catches.
Take your pick on which side of the ball Marrow best fits on, as the rising senior had a breakout junior season. Marrow had nearly 700 scrimmage yards on offense and picked off four passes from his corner spot. Without a doubt, Marrow will be well within the rankings during the next update.
I had a chance to see Braylen up close at the CFI Carolinas MEGA Showcase, and his fluidity and agility as a player will give him a chance to be successful at a number of positions. Braylen had a strong season last year primarily as a JV quarterback for West Forsyth, and his dual-threat ability showed that he can be a special player with the ball in his hands. Given his physical frame and vision, Braylen could excel as a running back or receiver, in my honest opinion. As a quarterback, Braylen’s strength is throwing the ball with nice touch and throwing on the run with good accuracy.
