Hairston could be the most important player on the entire field Friday night. A guy who’s been on the radar for a while, Hairston is an explosive rusher, though he didn’t really get to showcase that in Week 1. If he can find some room against Grimsley’s elite defense, it will take pressure off of the passing game and allow space for a trio of elite receivers to challenge the Whirlies’ secondary.

Another watchlist running back who had a strong start to his 2029 season, Hairston wasn’t overly explosive on Thursday against a talented Davie County defense, but he picked up some tough yards. His 12-yard touchdown was evidence of that. He took an outside zone handoff, followed his blockers, planted, and got upfield before running through contact at the six-yard line and diving toward the end zone. He runs with plenty of balance and power, and I expect he’ll enter our rankings in October.

Hairston is a power back that owns his thick muscular frame, that is built for longevity. He has tree stumps for legs that are a quick reminder to get in the weight room. This kid is a baller who runs with authority, and has deceiving speed. It’s simple, do you want to get run over or ran around. Zayden falls in my category for young RBs ready for the physicality of Friday nights. He’s definitely one to keep an eye on. I know I will!
