For one, the talent pool was out of this world, with blue-chip recruits coming from out of state, across the state, and locally in western Pennsylvania. The prospects were vast and ranged from classes 2024 to 2028. All of the coaches at the Top 150 camp did a great job of teaching and motivating. There were current and former pro players all over, including Aaron Donald, the best DL in the NFL, instructing the defensive line group. Plus, the event was heavily covered by media personnel in the recruiting industry. There were so many prospects worth mentioning in the recap that I had to make this into a multi-part series. So, without further delay, let’s spotlight the Second batch of standouts from the 2Tenths Top 150 camp.
Julian looked good spinning the ball on Sunday. He has the size for the position and the athleticism that frightens defensive coordinators. Dugger’s arm strength and ball placement are on an FBS level. His deep balls are accurate, and his outs and in-breaking throws have the proper FBS zip on them. Dugger’s has offers are from Pitt and UMass, and recently received an offer from Holy Cross respectively. Dugger’s game is suited for the power five level, in my humble opinion.
Highlights
Robinson is another DB with FBS talent who looks the part. I enjoyed watching Clint showcase his footwork during the Indy session. He’s 6’1″ but doesn’t play as tall as his measurements. He pedals with a low center of gravity and has above-average ball skills. Clint’s body control and bulk, at around 200 lbs, will be celebrated in the ACC at his new home in Syracuse.
After seeing Jason in person, there is no wonder power 5 programs were after him. Jason is quick-twitched, with the straight-line speed to go with his movements. He has a good vertical leap and plays the football well. Cross has the size and speed to be a highly effective DB at the FBS level. Jason has the type of ability that makes him formidable at any position he decides to play.
I got a chance to watch KyShawn up close, and man, he didn’t disappoint. He has D1 foot speed, pad level, and technique across the board. He pedals at a nice, controlled pace and breaks quickly. He’s skilled at press man coverage and properly contests anything in his area. Robinson and Daron Barksdale showed versatility, playing the two high safeties during 7-on-7s, and performed well.
Peyton recently received his first D1 offer this week from Saint Francis in the NEC. Peyton has good QB mechanics and the footwork to match. His arm strength was good, and so was the placement on his passes. Wehner was one of several PCC players who performed well at Top 150. Wehner has all the weapons and talent to make a deep run in the playoffs this year.
Naytel looked very sharp at the 2Tenths 150 camp. His athleticism was the biggest thing on display. Naytel has good short area quickness mixed with straight-line speed. He easily accelerates or decelerates on command and displayed that during the Indy portion. The 150 camp learned that he’s a slippery back to cover out of the backfield during one-on-ones. Mitchell received RB MVP for day after his performance. Naytel has one offer from D1 FCS Robert Morris, but if he performs like he did Sunday, that number will grow.
Jacob was another OL prospect that performed well on Sunday. He has a good kick slide and has the strength to stall DL out. Messina battled hard during one-on-ones, winning a lot of reps against FBS talent. Jake currently has D2 offers to Cal, Pa, Wheeling, and Clarion but displayed a D1 skill set on Sunday.
Sprankle looked very polished at the 2Tenths Top 150 camp. After playing the backup role to storied D1 QB Cadin Olsen, Sprankle looked ready. He has a strong arm and is a quick decision-maker. Colt has good size to only be a sophomore, at 6’0 and 160 lbs. He threw with good velocity and anticipation all day. He’s an accurate passer who gives his WRs the opportunity to make a play.
Sellers is another DE that maintains speed and explosion at the snap. It’s evident he’s been hitting the weights with his current body frame. Sellers’ fluidity doing drills and using his hands was showcased well at the Top 150 camp. Sellers has multiple FCS scholarships and even recently received a big one from prestigious Yale in the Ivy League.
I feel like I got a picture of Sasquatch finally, getting a headshot of Pierce. He’s the only FBS prospect I hadn’t seen any new film on. For one, he’s legitimately 6’6, 340 lbs, and has good bend in his stance. He looked like a D1 OL competing and kick sliding in one-on-ones. He’s definitely agile for a recruit of his size. Cannon is also strong, with long arms and a good punch. Cannon currently has three offers from Syracuse, Kent State, and Akron.
Brackney is a D1 OL prospect with a ton of upside. He has good bend, and he does a good job of not rising up during pass pro. He has nimble feet and did a bang-up job competing against top-notch competition. He’s proportionately built and has two full seasons to add bulk to his 6’2, 255 lbs frame.
Walker is a prospect with a fast get-off and a lot of agility. He’s another recruit with size and a good frame. He’s legitimately 6’3, 245-250 lbs, with good hand violence. He has the build of an effective 5-technique with body control. He especially looked good flipping his hips on edge pass rushing. Walker competed hard during one-on-ones and got a couple of Ws. Walker has one offer from Clarion and is on some D1 programs’ radar.
