The camp, which was a complete sellout, featured athletes in the classes of 2027-2029. It provided an opportunity to experience the evaluation process featuring combine testing, as well as position-specific drills and concluded with an ultra-competitive one on one competition at each position. Camp attendees were made up of some the top talent from Texas, but athletes from Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas and more who made the trip to Fort Worth to show off their skills. Here’s a quick look at the athletes who were selected to the Honorable Mention All-Camp Team.
Passes the test from an athleticism, physical measurements and potential standpoint right away. Measured in at 5-foot-11 and 145-pounds and ran (hand time) a 4.6 in the forty and a 4.31 in the shuttle. Both of which were at the top, or near the top, of all athletes who tested. At the Quarterback position, he did test the best. That being said, he appears to be more an Athlete than a Quarterback at this point. Without question one of the fastest, most athletic kids there but needs to sharpen up QB skills to maximize his ability as he progresses into high school
Officially measured in at 5-foot-5 and 123-pounds (verified) at the Prep Redzone Next Camp in Texas and did a great job throughout the camp. The Quarterback position was an absolutely loaded group from top to bottom and overall it was probably 1 or 1A with the Wide Receiver position, as to who has the most talent. Phillips is an accurate passer with a short, crisp throwing motion that coaches and scouts loved. Obviously needs that growth spurt to kick in, but the arm talent is there.
Highlights
Hendricks is another younger QB that had an impressive day throwing the ball. He measured in at 5-foot-7 and 112-pounds (verified) and threw the ball with some good accuracy for an athlete just in the seventh-grade. The Lake Belton Middle School student-athlete looked beyond his years with decision-making and ball placement. Has room for growth in his arm strength on deep balls, and obviously size. A lot changes with athletes at this age, quickly. Stay tuned.
Brandon Burns
Brandon Burns
Burns came into this camp as prospect we didn’t know about, but left showing us that he has some ability. Measured in with good size for a 2027 Running Back at nearly 5-foot-9 and weighing 141 pounds. Didn’t wow with any speed or quickness numbers, but showed off a very powerful lower half with an 8’0″ and 8’4″ in the broad jump. Both lack of speed, yet very powerful legs is how he ended up here–just opposite sides of the coin.
Dickerson is a 2028 prospect that the country better get familiar with very quickly. The Oklahoma native is rocked up and looks like he’s about to be one of the top kids in the Sooner State and the nation–very quickly. If this camp wasn’t loaded with a bunch of 2027 athletes that are a little bigger and a little closer to being recruitable players, Dickerson would have made first team. At a verified 5-foot-4 and 145-pounds, he already benches over 200 pounds and turned in a hand-timed 4.66 in the forty. He’s going to be a dog.
Highlights
Class of 2027 prospect, Prince Williams Prince Williams 6’0″ | 160 lbs | ATH TX had one heck of a day at the camp. Checks all the boxes in terms of size at nearly 6-foot-1 and 161-pounds (verified), and in physical appearance with a tight, muscular frame. Ran exceptionally with a hand-times 4.63 in the forty and a 4.40 in the shuttle. The future Frisco Emerson Maverick was participating in his first ever football showcase and showed he has the tools to be dangerous.
Two of the eighth-graders (class of 2027) Wide Receiver’s that made the First Team All-Camp Team (will be released soon) already have multiple reported Division 1 offers, so the competition to earn recognition here was tough. Nonetheless, seventh-grade prospect Hayden Green Hayden Green 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR North Crowley | 2028 TX look really impressive. Measured in at a verified 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds and ran a hand-timed, 4.9 in the forty. Huge catch radius and some good ups make him a 2028 prospect to know.
Another 2027 prospect who opened a ton of eyes and put himself on the map this weekend. Measured in at 5-foot-10 and 145-pounds with elite quickness and excellent speed. Was hand-timed at a 4.69 in the forty and a 4.44 in the shuttle run. Also showed off some bunnies and power with identical 8’7″s in his two opportunities at the broad jump. Watching him run, there’s no question the kid is an athlete. He has athletic ability that many at this level simply don’t possess. If he can sharped his route running and work on staying lower in-and-out of his breaks, this kid could become a big time problem.
Cayden Logan
Cayden Logan
An athletic Defensive Lineman at 6-foot and 188-pounds that could easily play some Linebacker if he was asked to. If looked at as an Edge rusher or Defensive End he moves well and has good quickness. However, if being looked at as a Linebacker, he must improve his hand-timed 5.2 speed in the forty yard dash to match up in speed. He lands on the Honorable Mention list because he’s a bit of a tweener right now and another couple months of training and growing should make his future position(s) a little clearer.
Unquestionably a good overall athlete that plays a number of sports and positions at a decently high level. At the camp checked in at a solid 5-foot-6 and 150-pounds. Participated as a Defensive Back and showed flashes of the ability that it takes to get to the next level. Increased quickness is a must if he’s going to stay at the Defensive Back position. He flips his hips well and sees the game well, just needs to improve overall speed and quickness to be able to mirror Wide Receivers on the varsity level and beyond.
