Throughout the month of February, we’re updating the prospect rankings in Oklahoma. We started with the 2022 class and then last week, we updated the 2023 rankings with our new Top 125. We’ll also update the 2024 class and release our first ever rankings on the 2025 class at the end of month. After each ranking update, we’ll also have several posts breaking down the prospects. In this post, we put a spotlight on five prospects that made big jumps in the recent ranking update. One way of looking at it is these prospects each had a good amount of growth over the last several months. Another way of looking at it is wondering what were we thinking having these guys as low as we did in some areas. Nevertheless, here’s our spotlight on the 2023 Stock Risers.
Chance Wilson
Chance
Wilson
6'3" | 185 lbs | QB
Rejoice Christian | 2023
State
OK
– Quarterback – Rejoice Christian
Was: #35 – Now: #15
Jumping up 20 spots and establishing himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the state was Rejoice Christian’s Chance Wilson Chance Wilson 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK . We knew that Wilson had the ability to put up monster numbers throwing the ball and running but he’s a legitimate quarterback prospect. In their toughest game in the playoffs against Washington, Wilson was terrorized by the Warrior defense and he still made throws, he still made things happen with his legs. That’s what we wanted to see that puts Wilson in that upper category of not only quarterback prospects but prospects overall. In the toughest games, against the best competition, Wilson still does his thing.
DeSean Mays
DeSean

6'0" | 160 lbs | RB
Vian | 2023
State
OK
– Running Back – Vian
Was: #51 – Now: #29
The first of two running backs that made big jumps in the recent ranking update was Vian running back DeSean Mays DeSean Mays 6'0" | 160 lbs | RB Vian | 2023 State OK . We knew about the Vian standout going into his junior season but he exceeded any and all expectations of what he truly could be. When we updated the ranking in October, he was in the middle of an outstanding season but we wanted to see if he could keep it up. Not only did he keep it up, he established himself as one of the more electric playmakers in Class 2A football. Mays gives the Wolverines a home run threat every time he touches the ball and he put up some unbelievable numbers as a junior.
DJ McKinney
DJ
McKinney
6'0" | RB
Union | 2023
State
OK
– Running Back – Booker T Washington
Was: #77 – Now: #35
At this point, you just have to assume that Booker T Washington is ALWAYS going to have a stud at the running back position. It doesn’t matter what the year is, who’s transferred out, who’s graduated, the Hornets will have a top guy at that position and DJ McKinney DJ McKinney 6'0" | RB Union | 2023 State OK is that guy for the Hornets coming into this year. Despite splitting carries, McKinney still put up some big numbers in the running game and he also participated in our Showcase Camp back in January and ran some very fast times and was one of the top performers among an absolutely loaded running back group. McKinney and the Hornets will be one of the favorites in 6A-2 this fall.
Kiefer Mullins
Kiefer
Mullins
6'0" | 195 lbs | LB
Edmond Memorial | 2023
State
OK
– Linebacker – Edmond Memorial
Was: #91 – Now: #62
The only true defensive prospect on this list is Edmond Memorial’s Kiefer Mullins Kiefer Mullins 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB Edmond Memorial | 2023 State OK at the linebacker position. The 2022 class was absolutely loaded at the linebacker position and the 2023 class might see a bit of a decline in terms of depth at the position but that doesn’t mean the talent isn’t there. One of those talented linebackers is Kiefer Mullins Kiefer Mullins 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB Edmond Memorial | 2023 State OK , who had an outstanding junior season and is quickly turning into one of our favorite linebackers to watch. He might be flying under the radar because of Edmond Memorial’s struggles last fall but this is a young and talented team and it’s only a matter of time before they start surprising some people.
Sedrick Frazier
Sedrick
Frazier
5'10" | 155 lbs | ATH
Edmond North | 2023
State
OK
– Athlete – Edmond North
Was: #79 – Now: #33
The player that made the biggest jump in the recent ranking update was Edmond North’s star Sedrick Frazier Sedrick Frazier 5'10" | 155 lbs | ATH Edmond North | 2023 State OK . And we’ll be the first to admit this right here. That October ranking was terrible and Frazier shouldn’t even be considered a stock riser because he never should have been ranked so low. Similar to McKinney at Booker T Washington, Frazier is a borderline top 30 prospect and he brings an incredible amount of versatility to the football field. Whether it’s as an electric slot receiver on offense or a defensive back on defense, Frazier is one of the better playmakers in this class and this should be the start of a big offseason for him.
