is arguably the best athlete in the state’s 2023 quarterback class and he was proving that throughout the last two years. Wilson was on the verge of becoming a two-time finalist for Player Of The Year and potentially winning it in 2022 before an injury sidelined him for the second half of the regular season. And when he came back for the playoffs, he just wasn’t back to 100 percent yet. Wilson is already on campus at Montana State and he’s definitely a quarterback to keep an eye on at the next level. The ceiling is incredibly high with Wilson and he could end up being the best of the group in four years.

. In a week one win on the road over Cascia Hall, Wilson could not be stopped as the Eagles rolled to an easy win. He would finish with over 300 yards passing and two touchdowns while also adding over 100 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He threw for over 300 yards while completing just 11 passes on the night. It was big play after big play for Wilson and the Rejoice offense. Unfortunately, Wilson would get injured about a month after this game and would miss the second half of the season and was simply not the same when he came back in the first round of the playoffs. It’s definitely one of the “what if” questions we have about the 2022 season.Access all of Prep Redzone

Arguably the biggest question going into the Class 2A playoffs is about Rejoice Christian senior quarterback

and his knee that he hurt back in week five. If Wilson, who hasn’t played since hurting his knee in late September, is ready to go for the playoffs, the Eagles might be the favorite to capture their first ever state championship. If Wilson is unable to go, the Eagles have shown that they can still be one of the top teams in the state with sophomore

leading the offense. All indication to us coming into this week is that Wilson is getting close to returning. If he doesn’t return this week, there’s a good chance he’ll come back next week, as long as the Eagles take care of business on Friday. Rejoice would love to have Wilson back this week as they host Beggs Friday. Wilson torched the Demons in the regular season.

had one of the best starts to this fall. However, early on in October, Wilson went down with a knee injury and he has been out ever since. The expectation is that Wilson will be able to return for the Class 2A playoffs, where the Eagles expect to compete for a state championship. Wilson looked like he was on a fast track to not only be a finalist for Player Of The Year for the second straight year, but he was the leader in the race for the award. The production he had not only in every game, but specifically against the best teams on Rejoice’s schedule is what made Wilson so fun to watch. He continues to improve as a passer to go along with his legit state championship track speed.

It’s only the halfway mark of the regular season and all the players on this list are fitting but you would have to put Rejoice Christian senior quarterback

at the top of the list in terms of favorites for Player Of The Year this season. Not only does Wilson have insane numbers, he’s doing it against strong competition and he’s shown the ability to put the team on his back and carry them to a win. Rejoice is 5-0 on the season and Wilson has thrown for over 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns while completing nearly 70 percent of his passes. Wilson has also added over 500 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. And that ground game was important last week against Claremore Sequoyah. The Eagles got their biggest scare of the season so far and Wilson led them to a win with nearly 30 carries for over 150 yards and a season-high four touchdowns. Wilson and the Eagles are definitely must-watch going down the stretch.
