Waukee Northwest struggled out of the gate this season after reaching the UNI-Dome for the first time in school history last fall. It could be expected with graduation losses. The Wolves needed inexperienced guys to step up and that has happened, as they’ve won four in a row heading into Friday’s showdown with 6-0 Southeast Polk. Northwest is positioned for an upset thanks to players that have settled into more important roles in 2026. Broich is one of those guys. After not recording a varsity statistic a year ago, the junior has been one of the team’s top defenders. Ten of his 13.0 tackles have been solo stops. He has a tackle for loss and a 75-yard Pick-6. There are a few clips of him in action on the Northwest highlight videos and footage of Broich from two years ago on his Hudl page. Prep Redzone Iowa looks forward to evaluating his junior highlights when they become available.
