Basketball playoffs are just getting started here in Wisconsin, and that gives us a great time to look back on the regular season and identify the athletes who were able to produce at a high level on the hardwood. Many of those high impact players also delivered that same type of impact on Friday nights last fall. So I want to shine the spotlight on those dual sport stars. College coaches love to see kids participating and succeeding in multiple sports throughout the year and this group of 2027s are doing just that on the gridiron and hardwood. Let's talk about the numbers these kids are putting up along with what their strengths are on the football side of things.

What a year it has been for Waukesha South [player_tooltip player_id='1862982' first='Keegan' last='DeGeorge']. The 2027 WR/DB started his 2025-2026 school year off with an outstanding football season. He was the team's leading receiving threat, finishing with 63 receptions, 979 yards, and 13 TDs on offense. He also added 24 tackles and 1 FF on defense.

He carried that high impact performance into the basketball season where he is one of the top scoring juniors in the state. Keegan currently has a stat line of 23 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 1.5 APG. That leads the team in points, and is Top 3 for rebounds and assists per game.

Not surprising to see Keegan contributing so consistently across sports. He is an explosive athlete with strong instincts and playmaking abilities. The 2027 athlete is one to watch year round.

One of the best LBs in the state, and one of the hottest recruits in WI, is Amery's [player_tooltip player_id='1540874' first='Keaton' last='Wollan']. the 2027 is coming off a strong junior season where he shined on both sides of the ball. In total Keaton went for 60 carries, 932 yards, 8 TDs, 15 receptions, 179 yards, 125 tackles, 9 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, 4 FFs, 3 FRs, and 3 INTs. Elite numbers that helped Amery to a 4-6 record.

On the hardwood Keaton hasn't lost a step and has put up a dominant stat line. In total he has produced at a clip of 26.6 PPG, 10.3 RPG, 6 APG, and 2.7 SPG. His contribution has helped Amery to a 12-11 overall record.

Keaton is a special athlete. He holds multiple FBS offers including a Power 4 offer from Texas Tech. The '27 LB is so explosive, physical and violent. Yet it doesn't take away from his ability to play sideline to sideline. He is one of the best at his position in the state and only going to continue to rise.

Chris is coming off a massive year playing two ways for SJCA while the team was on their way to a State Championship victory. In total, the 2027 ATH put up 143 carries, 1,224 yards, 19 TDs, 24 receptions, 374 yards, 5 TDs, 70 tackles, 9 TFLs, 2 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FR, 6 PBUs, and 7 INTs.

SJCA basketball is having a solid season, sitting at 14-9 on the year. Chris has made a big impact across the board from scoring to rebounds to assists, and steals. In total the junior has put together a stat line of 21.3 PPG 5.8 RPG, 5.7 APG, and 3.6 SPG.

On the football field Chris is such a versatile weapon. He is a focal point of the offense with his speed and vision, and on defense the 2027 looks most natural. Chris' ability to quickly diagnose plays and be in the right place at the right time jumps off the tape. Easy to see why things have really taken a step up in his recruitment recently.

On the football field Northwestern had a great year. A year that included a run to a State Championship appearance. Kamden led the way at QB and at DB for Northwestern, finishing with a stat line of 62/100, 1,320 yards, 17 TDs, 22 tackles, 1 FF, 1 FR, 5 PBUs, and 2 INTs.

Kamden and Northwestern are having a successful season and currently have a record of 16-7 overall. Kamden has been a big part of that success on the court with a stat line of 21.1 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 2.0 APG, and 2.0 SPG.

On the field Kamden has been great at executing the Tigers' offense with his ball handling and accuracy. But I believe safety might be his best fit. He has the range and the open field tackling to be relied on all over the field in coverage and run support. I'm going to be looking for Kroll to have a big senior season.

On the field, Owen was all over the field racking up tackles. The '27 finished 3rd on the team in tackles. A team that was led by the state's leader in tackles. He would finish 2025 with 85 tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 INT. Chippewa Falls would end the year at 4-6 overall.

Owen is one of the top scoring 2027s in the state when it comes to kids who also played big roles on the football field. He is currently sitting at 19.7 PPG, 4 RPG, 1.8 APG, and 1.5 SPG. All strong numbers for Chippewa Falls.

Owen put himself on my radar this past season. He has a long frame, is willing and able to come downhill and make key tackles, and he put up strong combine numbers at the UWEC Combine in February. He is a name to check out and keep an eye out for this summer.

On the football field Calvin is just coming into his own. He finished 2025 with 9 receptions, 215 yards, and 1 TD on offense. He also contributed 27 tackles, 2 PBUs, and 1 INT on defense.

Aquinas is having a good year on the hardwood. They currently are 18-4 and 3rd place in a very competitive Mississippi Valley Conference. Calvin is a big reason behind the success with his 19.5 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 4.0 APG,and 1.6 SPG.

Calvin is a force on the hardwood already, and he is coming into his own on the football field. The '27 has the size to be an impact player in either sport and at either position on the football field. He is a smooth athlete who exhibits the body control and fluidity to make plays and create space. I'm excited for his summer and fall.

McFarland's QB1 put together a strong junior season. He would finish going for 157/273, 1,941 yards, 24 TDs through the air plus 1 more on the ground. The junior also had a great 8:1 TD:INT ratio.

McFarland basketball is having a very good year. They have a few key pieces from the football team who are also key pieces of the hoops team. Garrett is leading the way for the 18-5 Spartans. He currently sits at 19.4 PPG. We don't have the rest of the stats, but it is clear that Garrett is a big piece to their success.

Garrett is also the key piece to the offensive success on Friday night's. He has the frame, accuracy, and the quickly improving arm strength to be able to start at the next level. He has a lot of experience at the varsity level too. Things are coming together for him to have a big summer and then a big senior season.

Eli had a very productive year receiving in 2025. He finished with 26 receptions, 450 yards, and 9 TDs. He was a force in the redzone, but his 7.3 yards/reception also shows that he can provide big play opportunities downfield.

Another major piece to the McFarland basketball team is [player_tooltip player_id='2103475' first='Eli' last='Krueger']. The massive athlete holds multiple D1 offers for basketball and is proving why with his 18.6 PPG.

Eli's size is such a rare advantage and while he may be more of a basketball recruit than a football recruit I am confident that he could play at a very high level on the football field too.

Central had a strong year going 7-4 overall and Gabe was a big reason behind it with his massive stat line. Gabe truly did a bit of everything. In total, Gabe went for 29/49, 431 yards, 1 Passing TD, 73 carries, 633 yards, 6 rushing TDs, 16 receptions, 184 yards, 1 TD, 67 tackles, 7 TFLs, 2 PBUs, and 4 INTs.

La Crosse Central is another top tier team in the highly competitive Mississippi Valley Conference. They are currently 2nd place with a 19-4 record. Gabe leads the way on the scoring end, averaging 17.9 PPG.

On the football field you can't argue with Gabe's unreal versatility. It seems like the explosive athlete could play almost any position on the field. He is so explosive and has such a consistent knack for making plays. I can't wait to see him testing numbers this summer and then watch him continue that big variety of impact.

Tyler and Lake Mills had a great season in 2025. The finished the year 8-3 overall. Tyler would end the year going for 147/235, 2,625 yards, 38 TDs, 161 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD.

QB1 on the field is also playing like QB1 on the hardwood. Not only is he one of the better scorers among 2027 football/basektball players but also one of the best distributors of the basketball. On the season the junior is averaging 17.7 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 7.1 APG, and 2.7 SPG. Lake Mills is having a great year, sitting at 21-2 overall.

We have been preaching the same thing with Tyler. He is talented and dedicated to his craft. Not only is he at a great point in his development, but also striving to be better while still playing other sports at a high level. Tyler checks the boxes from accuracy to mechanics to athleticism to arm strength to hit every necessary window. He is continuing to have QB1 locked down.
