We've lost track of how many 2026 ranking updates we've had with Jenks running back [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] leading the way as the top overall prospect. There was no doubt that he was going to remain in the top spot in the latest update with how he's played this season. Jones has been arguably the best football player in Oklahoma this season. He's rewritten the record book at Jenks and what's crazy is Jones has been considered by us as the best player in Oklahoma and yet he still has elevated his game. Coming into the season, we were pretty confident he was a finished product but that hasn't been the case. He is one of the more dynamic players in the state and he has the ability to change the game in a blink of an eye.

Union running back [player_tooltip player_id='858876' first='Tayveon' last='Parry'] stood out to us early on in his career. In back to back offseasons in 2023 and 2024, Parry looked like a player that was primed to be one of the top running backs in this class. As a junior in 2024, Parry finally had that breakout season. He became one of the more complete running backs in the state. He was just as effective in the ground game as he was as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Parry continued that this season and despite Union going through a rocky season, Parry still found a way to stand out week after week. In our opinion, he's one of the more underrated running backs in the state and will be an impactful player at the next level.

Newcastle standout [player_tooltip player_id='449184' first='TJ' last='Bradford'] has been a name to know since his freshman season. He burst onto the scene as a running back and he's been one of the best at the position in this class since then. But it's an interesting thing when it comes to Bradford. He's incredibly athletic and while he's been dominant and more importantly, consistent on the offensive side of the ball, Bradford has also been really solid as a cornerback. So maybe defense is the right spot for Bradford when it comes to the next level. But right now, we still like him at running back because of the overall body of work he's shown there. For the second straight year, Bradford has helped lead the Racers to the 5A semifinals.

Elgin running back [player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] is right there near the top of the list when it comes to the most impactful players in the state. And because of that, he's another example of a prospect in this class that it just doesn't add up with his recruitment. He's a winner, he's an absolute workhorse and he can make a program better. Meyer should be higher on a lot of college's lists when it comes to the running back position. He's even shown this season that he can impact the game on defense at linebacker. We've watched quite a bit of Meyer's game over the last two seasons and we don't think it's hyperbole. Meyer is one of the best players in the state of Oklahoma and he should be recruited like that.

A lot of what we wrote about Meyer can be repeated here. Sulphur standout [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] has been an absolute star for the Bulldogs and similar to Meyer, it seems like he always performs at his best when the lights are the brightest. Another thing that Mobly brings to the field is his versatility. It hasn't mattered where Sulphur has put Mobly or how they've used him in their schemes, he always produces and he always has a significant impact. Just like Meyer, you can make things very simple when you're evaluating him as a prospect. He is an outstanding football player. No matter where or how you use him, he's going to be an outstanding football and make his team and program better.

Choctaw running back [player_tooltip player_id='476091' first='Mayor' last='Morgan'] might be the most underrated running back in the state's 2026 class. You see Morgan in person and it's easy to focus on the size questions. But that's also a lazy evaluation because when you watch him run, you see a totally different animal. Morgan is incredibly strong and we found out earlier this season that he dedicated himself to weightlifting in the offseason. That checked out as we watched defender after defender, all bigger than Morgan, bounce off him in a one on one situation. Morgan committed to Air Force this offseason and has had a terrific senior season. Morgan and the Yellowjackets are now one win away from making it back to Edmond.

Bixby running back [player_tooltip player_id='1045556' first='Jayson' last='Moll'] made a move back in the spring from Owasso to Bixby and it looks like it has paid off. In the last two seasons, Moll would split carries with another running back that's rated high in the state's 2026 class. Following his move to Bixby, Moll has been the marquee running back in this Spartan offense and he has produced at a very high level. Out of the eight prospects on this breakdown, Moll might be the most electric guy with the football in his hands and when he gets out in space. It's been fun to watch his transformation in this Bixby offense and see the kind of production he's had this season. He's been one of the best overall playmakers in Class 6A-1 this season.

We first watched [player_tooltip player_id='478923' first='Anthony' last='Johnson'] at a preseason scrimmage a few years ago, when he was an underclassman at Southmoore. Before last season, Johnson moved over to Norman and had a solid junior campaign. But this season, you can make the argument that Johnson has been one of the bigger breakout stars in Class 6A-1. He's had a terrific senior season and all the things that impressed us about him a few years ago are still there. Now, he has the production against top level competition to go with the overall look and athletic ability. Johnson is definitely one of those players that is the "hidden gem" late in the recruiting cycle that will make a staff look very smart when they offer him.
