Athletes across WI came to play in Week 1, but in Week 2 we saw them push it to another level. Offensive skill players went absolutely crazy. We have 7 TD games passing and rushing this week. We have receivers and other RBs with multi-TD games. We have athletes that will be playing D1 football in today's article along with plenty that will be shaping the landscape of the D2/D3 levels in a few years. There are so many dominant performances this week, so we did our best to include a ton of athletes in this week's recap. Let's dive right into it!

It was a career night for junior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1284286' first='Jax' last='Pesch']. The bigger RB1 displayed his full array of talents and tools in his 200+ yard night. Jax is a long strider running with the ball in his hands, yet he demonstrates an effective jump cut in traffic to help him win in traffic. The bread and butter for the nearly 200 lbs back is his power and contact balance, though. You see him lower the shoulder on defenders, stiff arm, and simply run through arm tackles over and over in his Week 2 highlights. Every time we check in with Jax he is looking better and better and the numbers are getting bigger too. The 2027 RB is really coming into his own early this season.

Jonathon is a two-way impact senior for Stevens Point. The 2026 plays WR and DB, and Week 2 we saw him make plays at both. However, his play at WR is why he is in this article. His weekly highlights show a playmaker who can win attacking every level of the field. You see the ability to get deep, win jump balls, and make concentration catches in traffic. You also see him pile up yards after the catch with some slippery running. The senior also burned the defense with a slick double move. Jonathon is clearly a difference maker wherever he is at on the field. Don't sleep on the senior.

Dalton went crazy in Week 2! The sophomore starter was on a mission to push the ball deep downfield throughout the night and he delivered. The ball jumps out of his hand and dropped right into the hands of his targets in stride leading to big time plays after the catch. Dalton's mechanics are developing quickly, from his footwork to the release and how well everything works together. I was also impressed with his mobility in the pocket and when he decided to keep it himself. The early returns are looking great for the up and coming signal caller.

What an UNBELIEVABLE performance by the junior RB out of Spencer! Jack ran through the defense like a hot knife through butter. A ton of his success came on carries between the tackles. That was because once he got on his path Jackson was a runaway freight train that arm tackles had no impact against. His lower body power also gave him explosive acceleration that also got him through gaps and traffic quickly. Jack is one of those workhorse backs that thrives off wearing down the defense, but also has that second gear the second he hits the open field. Coaches are going to want to keep an eye on this kid as he chases after records.

Expectations were high for QB1 coming into the season, but I didn't have a 7 TD game on my bingo card. Yet here we are, two weeks into the season and Tyler is lighting up the scoreboard and stat sheet. Having over 50% of your completions result in TDs is unreal, yet that is exactly what Tyler did. Looking at Tyler as a prospect, there is so much to like. Natural throwing motion, the ball jumps out of his hand effortlessly, his control over ball placement to every level and with different velocities his D1 ready. He is the leader of his offense, poised, and always knows where to go with the ball. A big season is unfolding for the 2027.

Keegan is a new athlete to my radar, but since Week 1 I haven't been able to miss him. The junior WR has been the go-to option for the pass-heavy Waukesha South offense. The first few plays show a WR with a strong ability of tracking the football deep downfield and making the last second adjustment to secure the catch away from the DB. Keegan wins a ton of his reps with his quick twitch athleticism and how he uses it to be an effective route runner. The 2027 is able to create separation so early in the play, giving his QB easy targets. The junior is in the midst of a breakout campaign.

The senior WR out of Waupun has put on a great showing in Week 1 and 2. The small school WR has the athleticism to continue his career at the next level. From the very first play this past week it jumps off the tape how Logan plays the game at a different speed than the rest of the 21 players on the field. He is so quick to eat up cushion off the line and can shake a DB early on then pull away once he gets on top of them. The long, lean target also flashed the ability to go up and get it and use that size to his advantage. Logan is a legitimate weapon for a Waupun team that is looking put together a special season.

In one of the top, small-school matchups Brock and the Grantsburg offense put on a show. The high-flying offense was too much to handle as Brock spread the ball around the field and even got it done with his legs. Brock showed a bit of everything in this week's highlights. The ability to be accurate off platform and on the move. The ability to stand tall in the pocket and go through progressions. The arm talent to put the ball anywhere he needs it, and with the velocity required to hit windows. Plus when the play breaks down Brock is going to keep his eyes downfield while buying time. The senior QB is putting together a great early season as he and his team look to get back to Camp Randall in November.

West De Pere is well known for its passing attack and all the weapons that make up that part of their offense. What makes them even more dangerous is that in any week they also have a senior RB who could go off for a 3 TD performance. That is what Ryan did in Week 2. Watching him on tape I came away loving the way he attacks the defense. Ryan is always gaining yards. There is no wasted movement or dancing. Even if he is trying to get the edge you will still see him getting up field while doing it. The senior also repeatedly showed off the game-breaking speed that got him the edge on the defense over and over. Ryan's low center of gravity was clutch on several big carries and receptions too. Not something you might expect from a 165 lbs back, but Ryan isn't afraid to be physical. Don't sleep on the senior.

It did NOT take many touches for the senior RB to take over the game and put together big numbers for Milwaukee Lutheran. The senior is proving to be one of the more balanced backs in this Class. You see right away on the first carry how he can win with speed to get the corner and also run through arm tackles without losing a step. Marcellis is a back that you have to gang tackle early because once he gets rolling it is hard to step in front of him and slow him down. On top of it you also see the patience and decisiveness when he has the ball in his hands. The senior RB is definitely on the rise for me. Give him a look for yourselves.

I have been anxiously waiting for tape from the explosive WR out of Appleton West. The senior finally has some and while doing so he is also tied for most TDs in his conference through two weeks. We saw Chase make all his plays from the slot in Week 2. Giving him space to attack inside or outside, but most of all vertically. Chase did well getting behind the defense for big plays that sparked West to a victory. The senior WR was a walking highlight reel in Week 2. Keep a close eye on his breakout senior season.

I didn't have to watch the Week 2 highlights long to realize that Jerell is going to be one of our biggest risers when I update rankings after the season. The junior RB has taken a massive leap in his development. He looks the part with his strong frame and plays with a special blend of power and athleticism. Jerell is able to create yards in so many ways. He can run behind his pads, make you miss, and does really well rolling with contact and spinning off hits. HIs contact balance has become one of his main forms of success as he churns that powerful lower body through contact. With the physicality also comes the athleticism to rip off the big gain or long TD. Get ready for big things from Jerell.

The premier talent showed how dominant his traits are compared to even a solid group of DBs that he went against. He effortlessly could get vertical while also separating from DBs. It was natural for him to find the ball over his shoulder and track it down. Dustin naturally plucks the ball out of the air. When pressed, his release at the line is quick, efficient, and gets him on top of the CB very early in the play. Roach is an elite playmaker, making the game-changing plays look like an everyday task. No doubt about it, Dustin is one of the state's elite skill players.

It is great to see Chase's game advancing and adding more refined parts to it. He has been a monster with his speed and ball tracking deep downfield. That dates back to 2024 and it is still here in 2025. However, we are now seeing more examples of him winning in the short passing game as well. Whether it be with route running thanks to crisp breaks from his balance and acceleration, or from elusive running after short catches. Being able to attack the entire field effectively is going to make him even more of a nightmare to guard. Don't miss out on the senior!

Brayden put on a show with his arm and legs in Week 2. The dual threat QB is looking great early in the season. On the ground Brayden made smart reads on options and looks much faster this fall compared to last fall, but it was more his quickness through traffic that sprung him to a lot of his big runs. Through the air, Brayden was aggressive with his targets. He stretched the field and also made a few impressive plays on the run and from off-platform bases. There was no shortage of big plays from the junior QB.

The Bangor RB put together a great Week 2 performance while helping his team to a big win. He churned his way to a pair of TDs on the back of some physical running. Dylan's highlights are loaded up with examples of him ripping through arm tackles, churning his legs through the center of defenders, and simply finding ways to keep his feet while punishing defenders. Dylan was able to play with that hard-nosed running style, but also flip the switch and hit that second gear when he found green grass. Dylan is going to be asked to produce on a weekly basis and he has shown to be up for the challenge.

Jack had a heck of a Week 2! He churned his way to 8-10 yards every carry it seemed like. All while wearing down the defense and punishing would-be tacklers. The north-south runner never shys away from contact and seems to play better the more he is able to take the power to the defense. The Hilbert product is a workhorse that is built to wear down a defense while still providing the home run threat. Give the junior a watch and definitely keep him on your boards as he has strong testing numbers from the summer as well like a 4.69 40, and 32.6" vertical.
