Jerell has had to spend his career playing second fiddle so far. That looks like it will be changing in 2026 as Jerell will be the leading rusher coming back to the Indians this fall with his 740 yards and 9 TDs from last fall. The soon to be senior surely looks ready for the job with that thick, powerful frame that can handle the load of being leaned on by an offense. Lucky for him and college coaching staffs his legs are more fresh because he hasn’t had to do that yet. But 2025 will be his time in the spotlight. A spotlight where he can continue to show off his hard-nosed running style and ability to bounce off tacklers. The physicality, patience, and vision are all there on his tape. If he can also put up numbers testing and show he can catch the ball this summer then we are going to see a spike in his attention. Keep a close eye on the Mukwonago standout.
Jerell is one of the biggest jumps of the update. He is coming off an explosive junior season. The 215 lbs athlete is a battering ram at RB, both as a lead blocker and ball carrier. His strong lower body easily run through arm tackles without notice and he has the speed to beat angles down the sideline when Jerell gets out in space. The junior has some wiggle to his game too, showing he can make you miss with some lateral agility. It is that big frame, power, and ability to always fall forward that the big man leans on most though. He is built for a larger workload so he can wear down a defense. Definitely an RB on the rise.
I didn’t have to watch the Week 2 highlights long to realize that Jerell is going to be one of our biggest risers when I update rankings after the season. The junior RB has taken a massive leap in his development. He looks the part with his strong frame and plays with a special blend of power and athleticism. Jerell is able to create yards in so many ways. He can run behind his pads, make you miss, and does really well rolling with contact and spinning off hits. HIs contact balance has become one of his main forms of success as he churns that powerful lower body through contact. With the physicality also comes the athleticism to rip off the big gain or long TD. Get ready for big things from Jerell.
