We have sang the praises of the talented QB out of West De Pere quite often here at Prep Redzone WI. That was always due to the immense talent he brings to the field. We are back talking about him today because that immense talent has done an unreal job of translating to production on the field.

Patrick led the state in passing yards, passing TDs, and passing yards per game. As a matter of fact, Patrick is the only QB in WI to average 300+ yds/game in 2024. He flew past the 300 yd mark and actually averaged 320.5 yds/game over 12 games. His season long stat line was 3,846 yards, and 49 TDs. That yardage mark also was #8 on the all-time single season passing yardage list for WI. However you spin it, Patrick put up an unreal 2024 season and is set to build on it in 2025. I can't wait to see the numbers he produces.

The 2nd leading passer in terms of yards returning to the field in 2025 is Middleton's [player_tooltip player_id='1610215' first='Joey' last='Passaglia']. The junior QB finished with 2,495 yards and 32 TDs. Both numbers put him inside the Top 10 overall in 2024. Both numbers also have him and 2nd most of all players returning in 2025. Middleton put a lot of trust in him to lead their offense up and down the field. Joey was well equipped for the challenge. The junior signal caller wins with his pinpoint accuracy to every level of the field and managed to protect the ball consistently while also pushing the ball downfield often. The big play producer is only going to get better this season with his own development and the return of a few of his top receiving targets. Get ready for a big season from Joey.

Another highly productive junior passer that will be back on the field this fall is Kohler's [player_tooltip player_id='209472' first='Carmine' last='Moctezuma']. Carmine finished with 2,288 yards and 20 TDs in 2024. That yardage mark over 10 games led to him also being Top 10 in yds/game with 228.8 yards. I'm excited for Carmine's senior season because he has been putting in the work this offseason. I have crossed paths with him once already this offseason at a QB camp. The junior has a great frame for the position and the touch to dominate with his ball placement. Keep an eye on this kid.

Mount Horeb has been one of the best offenses the past few seasons, and the leader of it will be back in 2025 for his third season at the helm. The North Dakota commit piled up 2,249 yards and 26 TDs while being apart of a very balanced offensive attack. Brooks knows how to make his reps count without question. He averaged 8.2 yds/att and averaged 60+% completion percentage in 8/12 games as a junior. Brooks has the arm talent to effectively attack the entire field and the control over the ball placement to always give his man the best shot at making. a play while also protecting the ball. I can't wait for his final act this fall.

One of the most impressive individual efforts is Mosinee's [player_tooltip player_id='1654516' first='Treve' last='Stoffel']. He was Top 20 in passing yards in 2024 with 2,150 yards along with 19 TDs. Great numbers for a pocket passer through 10 games. Except Treve isn't a pocket passer. The 6'4" 200 lbs athlete is one of the top dual threats in the state and managed to pile up 683 rushing yards along with those strong passing numbers. Treve handles a big responsibility on offense and has turned it into massive overall numbers. He is big, athletic, and a very effective passer. Not to mention he also piled up 100+ tackles on defense as a safety. There is a lot to like here. Don't miss out on this kid.

Next up we have D1 State Champion [player_tooltip player_id='1247534' first='Matt' last='Stevens']. The 6'4" 210 lbs junior piled up was 21st in passing yards last year and 14th in passing TDs. Over 14 games the 2026 compiled 2,148 yards and 27 TDs. More impressive than the raw numbers are the averages. Even with Matt's strong numbers, Bay Port still focused on pounding the rock piling up 3,100+ rushing yards. That leads you to think that Matt was a great decision maker and maximized his 15 pass attempts per game to the max. You would be correct as he averaged over 10 yds/att and completed 67.5% of his passes overall. Matt checks a lot of boxes from size, to arm strength and accuracy to efficiency and decision making. A big senior season is on the way from Matt.

Another one of the elite passing talents in this historic 2026 QB Class is [player_tooltip player_id='1570957' first='Tanner' last='Effertz']. Tanner is in a battle for QB1 in the state and similar to Patrick, Tanner turned that elite talent into exceptional production. Tanner was Top 25 in yards, Top 15 in TDs, and Top 10 in yards/game. His official stat line is 2,098 yards, 27 TDs, and 233.1 yds/game. Tanner has a no-doubt, FBS level arm. He can fire it on a line almost to any spot on the field. Tanner has shown great command over his ball placement to every level of the field, highlighted by his 64% completion percentage. Tanner can make every throw on the field and do it with accuracy.
Another wildly impressive season was that from Oshkosh North QB [player_tooltip player_id='1610031' first='Bryce' last='Ott']. Bryce finished 26th overall in passing yards despite only playing in 9 games. His 2,088 yards over 9 games put him inside the Top 10 in yards per game with 232 yds/game. If he wouldn't have missed a game Bryce would have been inside the Top 15 in total passing yds. The junior is more than just a number producer too. He is a legitimate next level recruit with size, accuracy, touch, and arm strength. I can't wait for him to get out to camps this summer and really start turning heads in front of coaches. His time is coming.

The first 2027 among the Top 10 returning passers is Racine Lutheran's [player_tooltip player_id='1226955' first='Cohen' last='Kraus']. Cohen finished with 2,075 passing yards and 28 TDs. Good enough for 27th and 11th respectively. The sophomore is an excellent athlete who also shines on defense. He secured 100+ tackles in 2024 while also leading the offense up and down the field. Kraus also did damage on the ground with 400+ rushing yards. Essentially, the sophomore never left the field and was impacting the game non-stop. He is a versatile athlete that is sure to put up even better numbers this fall. I'm excited to watch it unfold.

Rounding out the Top 10 for most passing yards returning in 2025 is Lake Mills' [player_tooltip player_id='1226894' first='Tyler' last='Wollin']. In 12 games the sophomore piled up 2,055 yards while also averaging 8.7 yds/att and completing 58% of his passes. The impressive underclassman also piled up nearly 500 rushing yards. Tyler possesses and is further developing one of the best arm talents in the state. He is able to drive the ball to every route on the field. His accuracy continues to improve, highlighted by his going 61+% completion percentage in 6/12 games. Tyler is quickly piling up experience too and will be entering his third season as the varsity starter as a junior this fall. Experience and talent should come together to create a special 2025 season for Tyler.

We wrap up with a look at a kid that didn't make the Top 50 in passing yards, but he did make the Top 10 in passing TDs. State Champ [player_tooltip player_id='1144008' first='Eddie' last='Vinson Jr']. connected on 29 TDs on the way to a gold ball for his school. He also averaged just shy of 10 yds/att on the way to the big TD numbers. Those two together gives you an idea of the big play threat that he was as a junior. St. Cat's needed that from him in the biggest moments too. Eddie delivered 10 of those 29 TDs in the playoffs. The prime time performer was clutch in every big moment to secure the perfect 14-0 record. A lot of his teammates return with him in 2025 so look for them to be back for more big wins and big numbers in 2025.

Another top TD producer that we have to talk about in this article is St. Joseph's [player_tooltip player_id='1603927' first='Zach' last='Rizzo']. His 28 TDs were good enough for 11th in the state. He also finished 38th in passing yards with 1,913 yards. What might be even more impressive is the fact Zach only threw 2 INTs over 13 games and completed 6% of his passes. The junior has the size for the position, the arm strength for the position, and the smart decision making to win at the position. Zach does a great job of protecting the ball while still producing electric plays for his team. Along with the great ball protection, Zach still managed to average just shy of 9 yds/att. Being smart with the ball while still being aggressive with the ball is hard to find. Get your eyes on the talented junior.
