Mobley flew up our rankings after I re-evaluated him in April. The upside is obvious here as he’s a long, twitchy edge rusher who hasn’t yet filled out his frame. Expect him to continue to develop, both physically and mentally, which means that he should continue to earn more playing time, moving from just six games as a freshman to a potential high-level starter this fall and beyond.

Mobley played just six games on varsity, but that was enough for us to see the incredible upside. He’s a high-motor pass-rusher with a body that is still developing. In a year or two, don’t be surprised if he’s playing in the 240-range in terms of his weight. He’s already strong and should continue to get stronger.

Unlike some of the other top freshman edge rushers, Mobley was able to move around a bit on the line, playing some inside as well as at the 7-technique and even wide-9 edge rushing position. Mobley has a quick first step and the ability to physically dominate when left on a tight end or running back. That helped him rack up four sacks last season.
