About Luke
Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Iverson spent his first two seasons of high school at Norwalk contributing on a roster that featured a lot of veteran players. I saw him last year at the Back2Ballin 7v7 tournament and noticed a lot of upside. Now, we’ll get to see if one of the state’s top programs can tap into that potential. Iverson has transferred to defending state champion Dowling Catholic, which graduated a lot of production at his two most likely positions – receiver and defensive back. Iverson is a good athlete with speed that allows him to be versatile. He’s tall with long arms. Iverson is a tough matchup as a receiver with a large catch radius. He also shows fluid movements, which work well when running routes of if covering opposing receivers.

is a dynamic athlete that uses his length effectively both as a receiver and as a defensive back. Missing the majority of his sophomore campaign with Norwalk, the soon-to-be junior will play for Dowling Catholic next season after transferring.
Showing off some of what he was capable as a freshman with the Warriors, Iverson finished his first year of varsity ball with 14 tackles and two interceptions, using his ranginess, speed and length to cover a good chuck of the field as a defensive back. His film shows vision and natural reaction to plays in front of him, like breaking up passes and making tackles.
In camp appearances as a wide receiver, Iverson shows twitchiness and quick feet, showing potential in duping DBs and getting open down the field. He has a chance to play either DB or WR at the next level, and Dowling will only help him further pursue that goal.

ranks as the top athlete prospect in Iowa for the class of 2028. Iverson played on defense for most of his freshman year, but in limited snaps, he left quite an impression, with 14 tackles (12 solo), 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 interceptions. On both of his picks, Iverson did a great job scanning the QB’s vision from across the field and racing across to force the turnover. Being able to undercut routes on the other side of the field, Iverson also shows good timing on his pass breakups and using his hands well to knock the ball out of the receiver’s hands. Iverson could start seeing reps at WR heading into his sophomore year as well, and it’s clear that Norwalk has got quite a handful of star prospects on their team that will help with their performance in the future.

Iverson is our No. 7 prospect overall in the June 2025 Class of ’28 rankings update. The Norwalk sophomore is just scratching the surface of his high ceiling and is, without question, a player to watch for a Warrior outfit that should be formidable this season. I scouted Iverson at the Back 2 Ballin 7-on-7 tournament this spring in the UNI-Dome. He stood out for her versatility and athleticism, which allowed him to intercept two passes as a ninth-grader on the varsity a year ago. He shows off his broad-based skill set during his highlight video. Iverson looks like a seasoned veteran on the film, from a physical standpoint and in diagnosing plays. A breakout 2025 is likely.

Norwalk is on a run of developing versatile athletes capable of contributing in multiple areas. Iverson looks like he can help keep the trend going. As we can see watching his freshman highlight video, he delivered as a ninth-grade safety with two interceptions and 12 solo tackles. Iverson diagnoses plays well and gets to the ball quickly. His skill set works on offense, too. Don’t be surprised to see his contributions increase on that side of the ball and interest from the next level pick up with it.
