! The most pleasant surprise, the biggest stock riser, the most dominant 1v1 showing, and the most superlatives are just a few of the awards and honors bestowed upon Anoka’s OC/OG thanks to his performance at the PRZMN Spring Showcase. Burton, at a legit 6’2, 293 lbs., started things off with a 4.99 shuttle and 7’9 broad jump to highlight some athleticism and explosiveness, but the pot got even sweeter during 1v1 competition. Burton was absolutely shutdown from his iOL spot, with an easy, fluid, concise, yet powerful pass set that included a rock-solid base, great balance, heavy hands, and big-time strength. Burton proved he could also gain depth in his pass set and win pass reps against speedier iDL, and was light on his feet and did a great job of readjusting, staying square, and keeping his hands active as he stonewalled DTs over and over and over. Once he dropped his hips and set his base, Burton was halting rushers in their tracks dead stop, and was doing so without breaking a sweat. NSIC schools: you’ve been warned! Get to this kid to camp.

The rightful OL Camp MVP, Burton, was the most impressive trench prospect at the camp, and seemingly emerged out of nowhere. The 3-year Anoka Tornadoes starter was able to successfully play any position on the line, and I don’t think he lost a single rep throughout the afternoon. Touting a great build that would lend itself well to the IOL at the next level, Burton has great recovery and readjustment in pass-pro, and crazy fast feet for a 285-lb prospect. Coaches and scouts alike raved about his performance, and it was arguably the highlight of the combine as a whole. He also posted some solid testing numbers, including a 4.99 shuttle, which further highlights his mobility. Burton was also able to finish blocks against high-level comp, and all while never giving up an inch. His potential excites me, and without a doubt, we will see Burton shooting up the rankings this fall.

OL MVP
For me it wasn’t too hard to figure out early who the OL MVP could be, as even in the early part of the session, I had

of Anoka all over the notes in my notebook and am surprised after that outing that he is on our watchlist and not ranked quite yet although I am sure an OL MVP nod will 100% raise his stock. One skillset that is consistently noted in my notebook in his early reps, was just how well this young man finished every rep as you could feel the blue-collar work ethic come thru that you wanted to see in the trenches later in the session, in which Dustin delivered. Quick and physical hands at the point of attack mixed with well-versed pad level showed off persistency in the first session of our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase. The 6’2 285 pounder had no tape posted a few days ago but surely is getting a slough of attention from college coaches after his showing.
