Got through the top performances of the year for Seniors the 2025 class in New York is stacking up to be a good one, there were plenty of offensive performances to chose from but these athletes stood out as some of the top single game performances throughout the state.

Check out the best Senior single-game performances through the links below

Best Senior Offensive Performances

Best Senior Defensive Performances

Best Senior Two-Way Performances

[player_tooltip player_id='1205418' first='Gary' last='Merrill'] vs. Iona Prep

Merrill a notable Lacrosse star on Long Island was a big time playmaker all season and had several games you could decide from. His most impressive, in my opinion was against Iona Prep. 13/18 for 255 yards 2 passing touchdowns, 15 carries 131yards 3 rushing touchdowns and no turnovers. This was one of Merrill's five performances over 300 total offensive yards.

Merrill's Highlights vs. Iona Prep

[player_tooltip player_id='1205421' first='Marco' last='Aruta'] vs. St. Francis Prep

Aruta has a breakout year as a dual threat quarterback and also registered not only one of the best performances of the year but a very unique stat line for a quarterback. Against St. Francis Prep Aruta went 3/4 for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns, while adding 136 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground.

Aruta's Highlights vs. St. Francis Prep

[player_tooltip player_id='606298' first='Rich' last='Belin'] vs. Archbishop Stepinac

Gatorade Player of the Year in the State of New York was bound to have a game on this list and frankly could have at least six performances that are good enough to make it on this list. I think the most impressive was against Archbishop Stepinac due to Stepinac's defensive pedigree, but not much of that mattered to Belin as he went 13/23 for 360 yards 3 touchdowns and added 109 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground.

Belin's Highlights vs. Archbishop Stepinac

[player_tooltip player_id='648804' first='Zymere' last='Smith'] vs. South Seneca

Back to Back 1,000 yards seasons and nearly eclipsing 2,000 this season Smith is a stat machine. His best performance against South Seneca where he had 13 carries for 312 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground adding a 60 yard touchdown catch as well. One of the most impressive and efficient games I have ever seen where Smith averaged 26.6 yards per touch.

Smith's Highlights vs. South Seneca

[player_tooltip player_id='403046' first='C.J.' last='Robinson'] vs. Penfield

Robinson plays on both sides of the ball but a majority of his work comes from RB where he was a workhorse all year for UPrep. Robinson's best game came against Penfield where on just 14 carries he had 306 yards and 3 touchdowns in a bounce back game after UPrep's only regular season loss.

Robinson's Highlights vs. Penfield

[player_tooltip player_id='390760' first='Derrion' last='Battle'] vs. Pittsford

Battle had a a few games that warranted a look for this list but none more impressive than his showing against Pittsford, Battle had 32 carries for 262 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground, 2 receptions for 15 yards and even had an interception defensively. A very impressive performance, especially considering it was in the Section V playoffs.

Battle's Highlights vs. Pittsford

[player_tooltip player_id='648834' first='Steven' last='Dowdy Jr'] vs. Cardinal Hayes

In one of the best playoff games we saw in the NYCHSFL Dowdy Jr had his best performance of the year against an extremely talented Cardinal Hayes defense. Dowdy Jr had 10 catches 156 yards (Both Career Single Game Highs) to go along with 1 receiving touchdown and a 32 yard kick return. Dowdy get better as the year went on and showcased his best stuff in the game that mattered the most for Iona Prep.

Dowdy Jr's Highlights vs. Cardinal Hayes

[player_tooltip player_id='814928' first='Reid' last='Jones'] vs. Mt. St. Michael Academy

Jones was one of many weapons for Cardinal Hayes and while they often rotated when it came to who had a breakout game Jones turn came against Mt. St. Michael Academy on Thanksgiving with 5 receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown.

Jones' Highlights vs. Mt. St. Michael Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='505863' first='E'Ryan' last='Lawrence'] vs. McQuaid

A RB/WR/Returner/ATH for Bennett, Lawrence had a lot of game where he was used all around the field, including a performance against McQuaid in which he had 8 carries for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns adding 4 receptions and 102 yards in the air and 35 yards in returns.

Lawrence's Highlights vs. McQuaid

Best Overall Single-Game Junior Offensive Performance

[player_tooltip player_id='505522' first='Joseph' last='Filardi'] vs. Smithtown West

About as obvious as any best single game performance in all of New York, In an all-time Long Island shootout against Smithtown West Filardi went 30/38 for 404 yards passing and 7 passing touchdowns while adding 17 carries for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground AND a 64 yard KO return, not to mention several 2pt conversions. 10 TOTAL TOUCHDOWNS + 0 TOTAL TURNOVERS bringing Half Hollow Hills West to a 70-68 win.

Filardi's Highlights vs. Smithtown West

Got through the top performances of the year for Seniors the 2025 class in New York is stacking up to be a good one, there were plenty of offensive performances to chose from but these athletes stood out as some of the top single game performances throughout the state.
