Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Currie makes a major jump from #20 to #3, firmly establishing himself as an elite-caliber trench prospect. Owns a massive 6’5” 315-pound frame with outstanding athleticism and rare movement skills for his size. Shows natural strength and power at the point of attack, consistently eating up space and controlling gaps as a true two-gap interior defensive lineman. Plays with heavy hands, strong base, and the ability to reset the line of scrimmage. Also flashed legitimate upside on the offensive line this season, highlighting his versatility, coordination, and natural ability. Easily recruitable with projectable traits on both sides of the ball. Holds 18 Division I offers from many of the nation’s top programs, underscoring his national value and long-term upside.

Currie is another one of the more sought after 2027 defenders across the country, and is a powerful interior rusher with tremendous hand violence and is stout against the run. He can quickly create knock-back, wins with both speed and power at the POA and moves very well for his size behind the line. He shows quick block recognition, can split double teams and wins one on one reps with ease. He has impressed at multiple stops this off-season against the best talent in the country and is a no-brainer high tier P4 level.

Currie drew some oohs and ahhs during the individual drills because he was the fastest guy during one drill while also being the biggest guy. Unsurprisingly, he was powerful during the one-on-one period and took no wasted steps. He was driving some big offensive linemen back and threw some good moves in addition to his power.

Currie was a very impressive prospect at multiple stops last off-season and has really exploded 12 months later and has now turned into a national recruit. He holds offers from Colorado State, Oregon State, Tennessee, San Diego State, USC, San Diego State, USC, Washington State and Washington. He is an exceptional athlete with great length inside and has the frame to add another 15 or 20 pounds at the next level. Currie is extremely explosive off the ball with active and violent hands and a high IQ prospect that can provide a twitchy interior pass rush and is very stout against the run. Heading into his Junior season, he is one of the best defensive linemen the state of California has to offer and currently remains uncommitted.

Currie lands himself at the #5 defensive lineman in the state after a strong off season. At 6’5” 295 lbs. he’s got ideal size and length to be a two-gap player on the interior. Great natural strength and power in both his lower body and his hands to fight through double teams or plug up the middle. A plus athlete at his size and age that can bend and fire off the ball. Despite holding six offers his recruitment is still in the early stages and is expected to be a national recruit as the cycle progresses.
