Lincoln Christian speedster CJ Wright CJ Wright 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Lincoln Christian | 2028 State OK is another player that we’re looking forward to seeing in an expanded role this fall. Wright split carries with another running back last season. But that player transferred out so Wright could see his workload expand on the offensive side of the ball. And the thing that impressed us the most about Wright’s sophomore season is how impactful he was in every aspect of the game. He was a dynamic running back but he also produced as a pass catcher out of the backfield. He also played really solid defense in the secondary and he returned kicks at a high level. Similar to Dickerson, Wright is another 2028 prospect that we first saw in middle school and it’s not surprising that he’s producing at a high level now.

Two-time defending champ Lincoln Christian is absolutely loaded and they’ve won 30+ consecutive games. They have plenty of players who can shine every week but sophomore running back CJ Wright CJ Wright 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Lincoln Christian | 2028 State OK is quickly becoming one of the most electric players in the state. Wright came into high school last year as one of the fastest running backs in the state and that speed has been on full display ever since. Whether it’s at running back, making plays as a receiver or returning kicks, Wright is incredibly dangerous with the football in his hands. Between rushing and receiving numbers this season, Wright is averaging a little over 13 yards a touch. Despite all of that, he still feels underrated and his best football is ahead of him.

Sophomore CJ Wright CJ Wright 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Lincoln Christian | 2028 State OK was one of the best freshmen in Oklahoma last season. Wright was on our radar after a fantastic offseason but we weren’t sure how much playing time he would get as a freshman. He earned that playing time in a crowded backfield. He finished with a little over 700 yards and eight touchdowns, along with nearly 350 yards and six touchdowns on just 17 receptions. As we look ahead to the 2025 season, we think Wright could be a player that will flirt with some numbers that we don’t see very often. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Wright could eclipse 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in a season by the end of his career.

Lincoln Christian is going to have one of the best running back duos in the state this season. CJ Wright CJ Wright 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Lincoln Christian | 2028 State OK is absolutely dynamic with the football in his hands and we are really looking forward to seeing what he looks like with an added workload this fall. Wright was a name that we were excited about coming into the 2024 season after watching him tear it up on the camp circuit and in various 7v7 tournaments. Wright had a solid freshman season and then we caught him in person again last month at a team camp. All he needs is a little bit of space and he can score from just about anywhere on the field. He has the potential to be a human highlight reel for the Bulldogs this season. We have a feeling they’ll get creative with ways to get the ball in his hands.

Around this time last year, we were writing quite a bit about Lincoln Christian’s CJ Wright CJ Wright 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Lincoln Christian | 2028 State OK and at that time, it felt like he’d be a lock for the initial 2028 rankings and he would be relatively high. Wright debuts at #7 overall and the top guy at the running back position. Wright has legitimate track speed and when he gets into the open field, he is incredibly tough to stop. Wright would earn playing time as a freshman in a relatively loaded Lincoln Christian backfield. This fall, he’ll still be splitting carries but there is no doubt that Wright gives the Bulldogs a playmaker that not many teams can contend with. Wright is already a star on the track and the more he grows, the more he has the potential to be one of the very best prospects in this class. He’s incredibly dynamic with the football in his hands.

When Wright has the football in his hands, he is without a doubt one of the fastest players on the field at any given time and he’s already showcased that speed this season. Wright is third on the team in carries but he’s leading the team in yards and that’s easy to do when you’re averaging over ten yards per carry. We knew that Wright was explosive and fast but we also wanted to see him do it at the varsity level. And Lincoln Christian has tested themselves against a tough early schedule and Wright has still produced. As he continues to grow and mature physically, combined with that legitimate track speed, Wright is going to be electric to watch.
