as an off-ball linebacker. For one, his height and frame indicate very high upside.
His tape is quite solid as well. Defending inside run, Giles has a few very bright moments where he reads, reacts, and meets the ballcarrier right at the line of scrimmage. When unblocked, Giles is a very good linebacker between the tackles and makes sure to finish his tackles. Even when he is blocked, Robert has moments where he successfully maintains leverage, keeps his eyes in the backfield, and successfully attacks when the moment is right (1:18 vs. Mona Shores).
Between the tackles, Giles is promising. Next season, I would love to see Giles put on some more muscle and improve his change of direction. I love the size, like the physicality, and think Giles is a very high-upside player.

Giles played a very unique role in the Grand Blanc offense. He was utilized all over the place as a TE, H-Back, and RB.
Getting carries out of the backfield, Robert did a decent job of staying physical and churning forward. He isn’t the fastest player, but he’s still able to outrun most defensive linemen. Robert also shows flashes of good physicality, but fails to use this super effectively as a ballcarrier. That said, he’s a decent blocker.
Robert also has a few defensive highlights. Here, as well as on offense, I’d like to see Robert play a little faster.

Robert earned some Varsity time last season, and I fully expect him to take another step forward this season. Speaking of last season, Robert’s short highlight tape has promising moments. Robert seems to have served as a solid possession target, as he racked in a 1/2 dozen catches, immediately trying to earn yards after the catch. He also has a couple of solid plays while blocking, or while defending as a DE. All in all, as long as Robert has remained active this offseason, I fully expect him to be a ranked player extremely soon. I hope to see better physicality more than anything else this season!
