He is an undersized RB that plays much bigger than he is. Restau does not shy away from physicality. He showed really good contact balance and loves to keep his legs moving upon contact. He displayed wonderful agility and speed on his 80 yard kickoff return TD that really shifted momentum to his Caledonia squad. With Roberts low center of gravity, it was easy for him to play behind his pulling guard and tackle on the counter play where he had tons of success against the Rams defense. Robert will be a player that opposing defenses will key in on for the remainder of the season.

Casen looked like the ultimate field general last night. Playing with the snap count, communicating new plays and getting the ball to where it needed to be post snap. I would consider Whitford more as a scrambler, but he had some really good flashes of arm talent. Zipping passes into different windows to his pass catchers in stride. He completed passes in and out of the pocket, over the middle of the field and to both sidelines. His lone TD of the game came from him creating time, rolling right and delivering a nice ball to his receiver. I like the confidence that Casen continues to play with week in and week out.

The "Slot Receiver Supreme" had his game on full display last night. He showcased his great route running, superior ball skills and his underrated YAC ability. Tyden was pretty much unguardable in the slot one on one. He ate up the defenders cushion immediately and stuck his foot in the ground even quicker to create separation. Schuch was the go-to guy for 3rd down conversions. Time after time he ran away from defenders and made himself available to move the chains for his Caledonia offense. He ran a really nice slant route for a goaline TD. His best play came on a crucial 3rd and 7 in the 3rd quarter where he went for a 30-yard catch and run helping to keep the scoring drive alive.

Owen is a sure handed receiver who always makes himself available for his QB. He was able to work his way through zone defense to make plays for his Rockford offense. His biggest play came early on in the first quarter. Holt worked his way across the field as his QB was able to buy time to get him the ball. A long catch and run for a TD lead to the Rams to taking their first lead of the game. Holt continued to get to his spots being QB friendly as he and Casen continued to hook up throughout the game.

We are very familiar with Bryce and what he does at the QB position for this Scots team. Last night may have been one of his better performances that I've witnessed. From the opening kickoff he was playing with great confidence in himself and teammates. Bryce was on time and on target more often than not. He did a great job of hanging in a collapsing pocket while still being able to deliver an accurate ball downfield. Backus has wonderful size and build that he used to get downhill in the QB run game. I was very impressed with how successful he was on third and 4th down. Converting 6/9 plays to keep his Caledonia offense flowing almost perfectly. He accounted for 4 TDs, 3 in the air to 2 different receivers with 1 coming on the ground.

Drew Ferwerda was a 6'6 safety blanket last night for his QB and Rams offense. Rep after rep, Casen would find his big jump ball talent 1 on 1 with a Scots defender to move the chains and keep the drive alive. His two biggest plays came on a 3rd and 4th down conversion. On both plays Ferwerda was able to drop his hips to create just enough separation on the sidelines to haul the pass in sustaining the drive.

Lincoln is one of the better, more versatile, 2-way players I've covered yet this season. Senti had his hands all over this game creating big splash plays on both sides of the ball. Defensively he helped build a wall that was stingy to the Rams run game. As usual Senti worked his way to the ball carrier making tackles near and away from the line of scrimmage. He did a good job keeping his head on a swivel in coverage when necessary. Offensively, Lincoln was a big bright spot for the Scots. He played with great tempo and pace at the TE position. His first big play came on a TE screen where he helped his offense convert on a 3rd down. He helped his Caledonia squad take a a two score lead after a beautiful catch and run TD.

Emmett was a force to be reckoned with on the Scots defense. I was very impressed with his physicality and how easy he made it look to shed blocks and get to the ball carriers. There were a couple drives where Haan had multiple solo tackles in a row, which really speaks to his high motor and willing physicality. He also showcased another side of his game, dropping back into coverage, reading the QBs eyes and coming away with a huge game changing interception late in the 3rd quarter.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter for access to all of my coverage on the Michigan High School football scene! Essa Kellah, @ CoachKNoDuke
