Prep Redzone Maryland takes a look at some of the top games to watch this weekend that feature Baltimore-area teams. It's a nice mix of games featuring both private and public schools from the area.

1. St. Frances Academy @ Vero Beach (FL): Fri 7:00 p.m.
St. Frances is 1-0 after defeating DeLand (TX) last week 49-35. Vero Beach is 2-0 and has scored 79 total points in its first two games. This will be VB's toughest game of the season.

2. Archbishop Spalding vs. St. John's (DC): Sat 7:30 p.m.
Archbishop Spalding (0-1) vs. a WCAC power. Best local Saturday night game and a real measuring stick for the four-time MIAA A champs. St. John's (1-0) had no problem with Mt. Zion Prep in their home opener (45-18 win). Archbishop Spalding had a problem with another WCAC Capital Division team last week, losing 35-14 to DeMatha.

3. Dunbar vs. Milford Mill Academy: Fri 6:00 p.m.
2025 state champ (Dunbar) vs. Baltimore County power (Milford Mill). Best public-school game of the weekend and a great way to kick off the Friday-evening slate of games.

4. Mervo @ Linganore: Sat 6:00 p.m.
2025 4A/3A state champ on the road against last year's 3A champ. This will have the atmosphere of a playoff game and should be well attended, as it is one of the few Saturday evening games in the state.

5. Haverford School (PA) vs. McDonogh: Sat 1:00 p.m.
McDonogh is 1-0, defeating Riverdale Baptist 22-14 last week. Haverford School is a high-quality opponent out of the Inter-Ac league in Philadelphia.

6. St. Mary's @ Broadneck: Fri 6:00 p.m.
This matchup features two teams from Anne Arundel County. St. Mary's was a 2025 MIAA A semifinalist.

7. #6 Mount St. Joseph @ St. Mary's Ryken: Fri 7:00 p.m.
Mount St. Joe is 1-0. Solid MIAA/WCAC-adjacent road game.

8. St. Albans (DC) vs. #20 St. Paul's: Fri 4:00 p.m.
St. Paul's was 10-1 and MIAA B champ last year. St. Albans were tri-champions of the IAC last season (Bullis and Georgetown Prep shared the title with them).

9. Oakland Mills @ Poly — Fri 4:00 p.m.
Oakland Mills finished (9-2) last season while Poly ended up with a (5-4) record. A win over OM would be a great start to their season.

10. Westminster vs. Franklin — Fri 6:00 p.m.
Westminster was 10-2 and a 3A semifinalist in 2025. Franklin finished 6-4 last season. They did defeat Westminster 12-10 in last year's season opener for both teams.
