Snowden completed 12 of 15 passes for 201 yards and four touchdown passes in his team’s 52-7 win over Mount St. Joseph. He also ran for another score. He and David Ledbetter David Ledbetter 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Archbishop Spalding | 2027 State MD connected on three of the scores. One of the touchdown passes was a beautiful back-shoulder fade ball into the back of the left side of the end zone, putting it in a spot only the receiver could catch. Archbishop Spalding is currently 2-0 in MIAA A league play.

In his first four games of Snowden’s freshman year, he had 678 passing yards, 10 passing touchdowns, and two rushing scores. Against Calvert Hall, he went 16-of-27 for 285 yards and five touchdowns. By his fifth start, he was over 1,000 passing yards. From the moment he became the starter through early October, he had accounted for 20 total touchdowns. Snowden finished his freshman year with 2,100 passing yards and 25 passing touchdowns (29 overall).

With the graduation of current starting Maryland Terrapins quarterback Malik Washington, Archbishop Spalding needed someone to step up and keep the train rolling. Snowden did more than step up. He helped lead the Cavaliers to a fourth-straight MIAA A championship.

Brian Snowden Brian Snowden 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Archbishop Spalding | 2029 State MD Jr. was elite this past weekend, the number 1 overall recruit in Maryland’s 2029 class nearly brought home the 18u title with Level 82. He does not look like a rising sophomore when you see up close, he looks like a college veteran. Standing at 6’2 and 185 lbs., he puts zing on each throw, Archbishop Spalding fans should be excited to watch him for the next three years.

As far as team impact goes, Snowden has made the biggest difference out of everyone in his class. His mission: make sure Archbishop Spalding didn’t miss a beat after losing Malik Washington (currently STARTING at Maryland) to graduation. Snowden passed for 2,100 yards and 25 total touchdowns as a freshman. I believe it’s only the beginning. Snowden has an offer from Maryland. With a varsity year of football in his pocket, it’ll be interesting to see which other schools decide to pull the trigger on an offer during the next several months.

A QB I’ve been able to get eyes on a few times already, Brian took over the reigns at QB for Spalding after week 1 and has never looked back. With 15 passing TDs on the year with only 1 interception on 67% completions, Brain is the real deal for a freshman.

Brian plays years beyond his age for the position with a great head on his shoulders, able to handle the pressure of the game and make good decisions with the ball. He also has great size for a freshman QB, standing 6’2″ with a big frame that will fill out nicely. Demonstrating smooth mechanics and throwing motion with a quick release, Brian stands tall in the pocket. He’s got a strong arm, able push it deep & has had some nice vert passes down the sideline and up the seam. Brian shows the ability the put impressive velocity and spin on the ball, able to fit it into tight windows. While also being able to put air and touch on his passes when needed, throwing a very catchable ball. He is a capable runner as well, showing excellent pocket awareness and mobility. I was at Spalding’s game vs Hun School (NJ) and his first TD pass he he took on the rush, moved the pocket and made a tough throw with 2 defenders in his face. This shows he has playmaking ability, understanding of the game and can handle the pressure.

Brian shows all the traits both physical, mental, and the intangibles/leadership you want from a QB. The sky is the limit for him, and he is poised to be the next great QB out of Spalding.
