Wheeler consistently pressured Concordia Prep quarterback Justin Dixon throughout the game. He sacked Dixon for six or seven yards on 3rd-and-17 in the first quarter and forced a punt. Wheeler was in on Page’s nine-yard sack to open the third. He rushed with Page and Josiah Coleman on the 3rd-and-10 blitz that Jackson Voss intercepted to the 25. Then Wheeler finished the night as a receiver. On 4th-and-goal, he leaked into the pattern after the fake to Shaw and caught the one-yard touchdown. Wheeler made a big impact on both sides of the football.

He demonstrated an impressive bull rush on film, pushing the blocker straight out of the way to create a sack. In pursuit, he’s tough to get away from. He does a good job setting the edge and retracing his steps back to the play. His athleticism was also on full display on a play where he caught a deep ball while lined up at receiver/tight end. Wheeler already holds top Division I offers from Ohio State University, Louisiana State University, and University of Georgia. Expect his recruiting list to grow tremendously over the offseason.
