*Get yourself the deal of the summer with code Johnson30 and save 30% on a PRZ subscription*

The junior season is a huge year of movement and establishment for high school football players. For the elite members of the group it is when we see a lot of offers start to roll in. For the rest of the Class, the junior year is where we see kids put themselves on the map, carve out a large role on their varsity team, and start to establish relationships with college coaches. The summer camp circuit is a huge time for these athletes to not only put themselves on the map, but establish themselves towards the top of the hierarchy of the Class. From what we saw this past month, these are a few of the 2028s who will be moving up our rankings and ready to put some impressive tape out to the public when the season rolls around. Coaches, keep an especially close eye on this group of athletes this fall.

We are going to be adding a ton of new athletes to the Class of 2028 rankings these next few weeks, but even with that I have high confidence that Khalil will be one of the biggest risers in the update. The OLB spent this past month proving to be such a special athlete at the position. He has a very well built frame for the position, and is able to fly around the field with it. His acceleration, balance, and change of direction allow him to be right at home playing in coverage out making 1 on 1 tackles out in space. The dominant '28 LB can also flip a switch, get downhill and use his power to get off blocks to either pressure the QB or stuff the run game. You don't find many LBs who can cover, rush, and set the edge. Khalil is well on his way towards proving he is one of those types of talents. Big things ahead for him.

Another wildly athletic LB who will be making a big jump this summer is [player_tooltip player_id='1140816' first='Elias' last='Reed'] of Manitowoc Lincoln. Elias brings elite athleticism to the field that makes him a sideline to sideline force at the second level of the defense. The way he can slice through gaps or run with TEs or RBs jumps off the tape and off the field this summer. I'm very excited to watch him lean the Manitowoc Lincoln defense this fall. It will be interesting to see how he continues to fill out his frame. Currently he looks like a hybrid LB/S that a lot of defenses utilize these days. Keep a close eye on the versatile and talented 2028.

Nolan has been an OL who has had my intrigue for awhile now. He was someone with size and power, but it was clear everything hadn't quite clicked together for him. That was until this summer when we got a fresh look at the 2028 and it is safe to say he has taken that next step. The big man looks the part, sets the tone with his physicality, and now we are seeing the comfort and trust in his feet an overall athleticism to help him make even more plays. Whether it being that he can mirror pass rushers more quickly, or win the body position and/or leverage battle his improvement in mobility has taken his game to the next level. Nolan is going to be pushing to be inside our Top 100 when we update the Class. Definitely keep an eye on the Wisconsin Rapids OL.

Braydon was an athlete who I was already anxiously waiting to see perform this fall. But we only made it to June before the rising 2028 QB spiked my excitement and intrigue even further. The incoming junior was able to already earn an offer from Northern State following a camp performance. He has been crushing every combine he has participated in, posting numbers to verify that he is a serious dual threat. Plus the fact he has started to earn opportunities at the next level already, it is clear that the signal caller also has the arm talent to attack the entire field. The fun that Bay Port Pirates fans have had the last few seasons should continue with the roster they return this fall, led by QB [player_tooltip player_id='1632570' first='Braydon' last='Maney'].

Viktor was one of my first strong impressions from this summer. It actually came back at the tail end of May at the Winona State camp. The 5'8" 150 lbs DB proved to be one of, if not the best, DBs in attendance. Viktor makes up for his undersized frame with quick twitch agility, closing/recovery speed, and the reactive athleticism to always be within arms reach of his man. The rising 2028 CB also did really well showing his instincts for undercutting routes and his overall ball skills. The La Crosse/Onalaska area of the state is loaded up with talent and Viktor is one of the kids leading the way for 2028s in that region.

Another OL who seems to have things clicking this summer and is heading for a breakout junior season is Kimberly OL [player_tooltip player_id='1709747' first='Connor' last='Bastian']. The big man has a fantastic frame for the interior of the line and the offseason weight room dedication was showing up his entire camp season. Just looking back at the clips you see that powerful lower body being able to bend and get underneath DL and then walking them off the line. It will be interesting to see if he can earn one of the starting varsity spots after spending time on JV and varsity as a sophomore. The big, strong 2028 matches the type of lineman that we see develop through the Kimberly program on a consistent basis. I'll have my eyes on him this fall without a doubt.

Bennett was a big winner of the month of June camps. His combination of 1v1 reps and combine testing numbers told us that the Germantown DB is going to be someone to watch closely. The 2028 was right at home competing with older athletes this summer following a sophomore season on varsity for a very talented Germantown team. On the field, Bennett showed an explosive closing burst, quick feet and hips with the ability to transition quickly out of his backpedal. The '28 also did well using his hands to redirect receivers. No doubt, Bennett proved to be a DB to know in the Class of 2028 and earned a bump in our upcoming rankings update.
