UND Flagship Camp: Nate’s MN-DAK OL/DL Standouts Pt. 2

We went in deep with Part 2 of our Minnesota and Dakotas offensive line and defensive line standouts from the UND Flagship Camp, featuring 16 athletes from across the Dakotas and Minnesota that stood out in the trenches. From plenty of new names, stockrisers, and ones waiting on more D1 attention, this Part 2 list covers a lot of areas from the morning session in Grand Forks last Thursday. A lot of hidden gems that needed the exposure were unleashed.    One of the youngest prospects I had in my notebook in Part 2 from the UND Flagship Camp was what I saw out of Park of Cottage Grove's [player_tooltip player_id='1877843' first='Leam' last='Hieserich']. For his age, I liked how coachable this kid was in his reps I took in from Grand Forks, as his ability to apply the details he received from the UND staff showed off in one of the reps I watched as Leam was able to apply quick hands for his age during the Indy reps I got to watch out of him. One to keep on our radar out the East Metro for the Wolpack in the 2029 class.     Another name that stood out on our DAK-MN list of OL/DLs from Goodrich-Grygla was a walkup that put together some good live reps was 2028 defensive linemen Gus Jones. Yes, he might have been one of the smaller DLs in attendance, but his technique was solid against bigger competition in small amount of reps I was able to watch out of Gus. He showed off quick hands that fired in with solid pad-level and had more strength than you might expect with some of the get offs I saw out of him. Another sleeper to know in 2028 out of G-G!     Another intriguing new name that got onto our radar at the final UND Flagship Camp on Thursday was Grygla 2028 offensive linemen Cooper Aune. The 6'3 260 pounder, caught my attention during Country Fair as for his size and frame he was well-versed when it came to his fluidty in the agility reps I was able to watch on Thursday morning in Grand Forks. I got to watch Cooper in some of the later reps during camp and he showed off one that has promising upside with good and growing hands in run-blocking reps. No tape and no Twitter that I could find, but always love to find a new name from the Outstate like we've found over the years at camps like UND.     Something in the water in the trenches at Goodrich Grygla? That might be the case as the 9-man program had three in my notebook on Thursday at the UND Flagship Camp including 2027 offensive linemen Brett Rychlock. The 6'1 235 pounder, showed off good technique which enhanced his pad-level in the live reps I watched on Thursday. Goodrich-Grygla boosts some intriguing size in the 9-man ranks to watch for this fall in their offensive trenches.     The new names were flying out of our notebook at the final UND Flagship Camp, as another name in the 2028 group of offensive linemen was Cayden Walsh of East Grand Forks. The 6'0 275 pounder, impressed me with the pad-level he showed off on a persistent basis in the handful of reps I was able to watch. Seeing the athletic growth that he's made since his sophomore tape was evident, as Cooper showed off a more intriguing bend than what he put together on his sophomore tape at the point of attack and was more balanced with his hand placement. An OL prospect to know for the Green Wave in the 2028 class for sure that put together some solid testing numbers for his position.     A new name out of Columbia Heights that caught my attention on a couple occasions at the UND Flagship Camp was 2028 offensive linemen Noah Hill. He was an offensive linemen that I thought had some good progression throughout the day starting during the County Fair period. Noah was one that if you watched his first reps to last reps during County Fair, you could see the boost he had with his footwork from an agility perspective. Later during 1v1s, Noah showed off to be well-balanced in the reps I watched, showing good hands and pad-level. A solid day for a OL prospect that was way off my radar before the UND Flagship Camp last Thursday.     A 2028 offensive linemen that was a newer name to my radar out of 6A powerhouse Maple Grove at the final UND Flagship Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='1738973' first='Kyrie' last='Hintzman']. Kyrie stood out as one of the more fluid offensive linemen from the younger group that also impressed with his change of direction as well from watching his footwork in action in the live reps. He shows off the upside that is coming for the 6'3 265 pounder as a 2028 target, as Kyrie showed glimpses of where his explosiveness could take him with his first step at the point of attack as a OL target that is figuring it out how to use it to his advantage with his pad-level and leverage. Surely one to keep an eye at the left tackle position in 2026 for the Crimson.     One of a couple South Dakota prospects in attendance in the morning OL/DL session at the UND Flagship Camp was Sioux Falls Washington 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2110172' first='Hayes' last='Petersen']. The 6'2 250 pounder, came in graded as a OL prospect, but after watching a chunk of his reps you can see the position flexibility that translates to either side of the ball with the preference sits as a defensive tackle. He's made steady growth since his junior season with the Warriors based on the live reps I watched, as Hayes showed off good drive-off leverage and was quick with his hands from an extension perspective. He's one that could be a senior bloomer for some schools out there in the Dakotas.     I didn't get to watch Jacob as much I would have liked, but there were some reps that caught our attention. The 6'0 240 pounder is another DL from Providence Academy, that showed off an improved get off in the reps I watched that showed off his growth from an agility perspective. His upside shows growth to develop a more balanced pad-level but Jacob was one that I feel showed off as a DL prospect that has a quick growth curve to improve some of that before the fall season starts. A 2027 that is under the radar with no offers as of yet.     Jonathan we have ranked as our OL8 in the North Dakota 2028 class, and I felt in the reps I watched he's one that elevated his stock. The 6'4 290 pounder out of Bismarck Legacy, showed off a latching ability that controlled the momentum of the DLs he went up against and the ability to slow down their movement especially when watching him in pass-pro reps at the UND Flagship Camp. He's one that grew rep after rep I watched as one that was persistent with his balance with his footwork and drive and has the upside to grow into a more well-rounded offensive tackle with a couple years left with the Sabers in the offensive trenches.   <a href="https://x.com/JonSperry72" id="https://x.com/JonSperry72">TWITTER</a>     An EDGE rusher that got on my radar a few times in my notebook, was Bemidji's [player_tooltip player_id='2055646' first='Logan' last='Caron']. His first look intrigued me with how he could utilze the extension of his hands which showed off intriguing length in the reps I watched during the Indy session in the morning group at the UND Flagship Camp. Later during 1v1s, Logan showed off an eye-catching get off that showed off his twitch, along with his tenacious hands with his get off. He's one that I felt was another Outstater that rose his stock out of this Minnesota 2027 group in Grand Forks.     We mentioned who the alpha was amongst Minnesotans were in the DL group amongst the 2027s, but as we move into the 2028s my selection for the alpha out of the Land of 10,000 Lakes was Cannon Falls EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='1916899' first='Harrison' last='Sjoquist']. Even though it was just a couple of months ago that I got a live eval on Harrison, the growth from the eye test perspective has significantly grown since then. He also I felt showed off to be much more explosive with his get off on Thursday morning as Harrison I recall won a handful of reps in a row during 1v1s and surely elevated his stock even sooner with his testing numbers which saw significant growth since the last testing numbers I saw from him. He also formed smoother hand-technique than from what I saw back in March/April and ended his day with a meeting with the UND staff which surely solidifies the outing Harrison had on Thursday. He's a 2028 that is surely a riser in Minnesota.     A persistent stockriser from camp season that should see himself moving up into our top 30 and likely beyond in South Dakota's 2027 class is Tea Area's [player_tooltip player_id='1649621' first='Hayden' last='Bialas']. The verified 6'2 210 pounder showed off relentless agility off the EDGE in the 1v1 reps I watched on Thursday in Grand Forks and was put up some of the best testing numbers amongst EDGE rushers at his position in the entire DL group. Hayden also showed off excellent pad-level against mostly bigger competition he went up against as again his agile footwork paid some dividends to winning a plethora of reps we were able to watch on Thursday morning at the UND Flagship Camp. Surely more scholarship-level programs need to get Hayden on their board as the tenacious hands he has are hard to miss.     A 2027 offensive linemen that has grown a ton of stock into camp season coming out of Battle Lake has been [player_tooltip player_id='1569588' first='Billy' last='Durbin']. Getting to watch him during board drills, Billy wasted no time showing off to the college coaches his blue-collar physicality he has with his hands at thej point of attack and was one of the more well-rounded Minnesota offensive linemen in attendance across the board with his skillsets. He's one that you could tell while working with the UND coaching staff, that was very coachable and put the fine details to work from what he got from them between reps. The NSIC schools throughout Minnesota and the Dakotas should all get this young man on their board if they haven't already as Billy has offers from Bemidji State, Jamestown, Southwest Minnesota State to name a few in that league.     Liam has been on my Minnesota radar for what feels like a long time now since he first came to our Minnesota Showcase a couple years back and is surely a different offensive linemen than he was back then. The 6'4 265 pounder from Mankato West I felt grew with his hands throughout the day in the reps I took in and I felt took a step forward with his coachability as a run-blocker. Liam has one Missouri Valley offer and a plethora of NSIC offers and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if more Missouri Valley schools got involved within the next month.     Easily one of the best Minnesota performances we saw in the 2027 DL group on Thursday in Grand Forks came from Providence Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='1629872' first='Jon' last='Wiseman']. Jon was mightly overpowering during the board drills I got to watch and was close to perfect in winning his 1v1s in Grand Forks on Thursday morning. He showed off great hand placement and I love the development he's made since my last live eval of Jon as far as how agile his hands have become. He wasted no time generating power rep after rep on Thursday and constantly barried OLs backwards right on line with great angles. Just one D1 offer and a huge plethora of NSIC offers have come thru for Jon in the last couple of weeks as he's surely been a camp riser on the summer camp circuit that you need to know now, not later.
