New camp, but the same grind applies as we headed up I-29 north to the SDSU Prospect Camp last Monday in one of our best camp stretches of the summer. Minnesota and plenty of Dakotas prospects cracked our radar and surely there are some that are generating a ton of attention at the next-level.

One of the 2029 offensive linemen that didn't take long to catch our attention at the end of the OL/DL session at the SDSU Prospect Camp, was South Dakota 2029 OL1 [player_tooltip player_id='1740899' first='Caden' last='Tobias']. The 6'5 275 pounder from Sioux Falls Jefferson, certainly has the length at his disposal with his striking hands, but what also struck a chord with Caden in his live eval is the growth of his lower body. His footwork shows off more range to cover with his wide base which put together the nasty-physicality you want duirng 1v1s.

Another #2 overall prospect this time in North Dakota that had an impressive morning at the OL/DL session of the SDSU Prospect Camp was one that is coming off a state championship run in his freshmen season which is Devils Lake's [player_tooltip player_id='1738188' first='Aiden' last='Stiven']. The 6'3 235 pounder, showed off great effectiveness with his get off hands and the hands were not the only part of his get off that intrigued us. He showed off to be more well-rounded in his movement than you might expect for a freshmen with Aiden's size, as his get off showed the sudden burst you wanted to see and Aiden was more wirey with his twtich when he had to change his pathway and release off his hands. Probably one of the better live evals I got from a 2029 DAK prospect in Brookings on Monday.

Casey is a 2027 offensive linemen that already has a NSIC offer under his belt, but I thought what I saw out of him at the SDSU Prospect Camp in the first session surely rose his stock on our 2027 North Dakota board. The 6'5 260 pounder has turned his rawer skillsets from last fall into more polished skillsets during the live eval in Brookings. He's gotten smoother hands by showing off his growing pad-level on the muliple reps I got to watch from Casey on Monday. Another area of emphasis that has grown for Casey is how quick he generates leverage with his hands, as I surely saw more quicker generation in his reps last week. He's one that I heard a few NSIC programs talking about at camp, so I wouldn't be surprised to see more exposure come his way out of the conference.

TWITTER

From one Casey in the offensive trenches to another, we move ahead to the live eval we got on Holy Family Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='1533772' first='Casey' last='Pearson']. I got a live eval on Casey during the 2025 season and had him as a standout in thier game against Annandale in which I remember "upside" being a buzz word that was unlocked back then, and I feel it was untapped at the SDSU Prospect Camp. The 6'4 280 pounder, showed off to be more flexible and showed more agile hips in the live reps I watched in Brookings on Monday. He's one that still has some rawness to keep unlocking, but with one offer thus far he's one that is trending the direction you want during camp season.

Max seems to be one at close to every camp I have been to in the Dakotas this summer that ends up somwhere in my notebook, regardless of the camps size. The 6'3 230 pounder from Pierre T.F. Riggs, is one that keeps progressing forward with any live reps he's given as I thought he took a step up in of the first session of the SDSU Prospect Camp with his agile movement on his outside moves. You could tell that he's becoming more balanced between the inside and outisde, which is something to watch keep growing this summer. He's been a summer stockriser out of the South Dakota 2027s that I would pound the table for more attention at the D2 level.

Another Minnesotan that cracked my Minnesota/Dakotas standout list at the SDSU Prospect Camp in session 1, is a DL prospect that has been sound this summer at camps is South St. Paul's [player_tooltip player_id='1648453' first='Wyatt' last='Henderson'] who keeps showing why he's a scholarship talent as a defensive tackle at the next-level. He showed me in Brookings even more explosiveness with his get off hands in the live reps I watched than even what we saw in Spring, which is when Wyatt started to pick up a lot of D2 and FCS attention. He's gotten more fluid with the release of his hands to date. He's up to four offers at the moment, and surely could see more come his way by the end of camp season.

One of the most impressive outings from uncommitted 2027 South Dakotans in the trenches on Monday in Brookings in my eyes, came from Madison's [player_tooltip player_id='1293155' first='Ashten' last='Dorhout'] who took defenisve linemen reps at the SDSU Prospect Camp. He had the SDSU coaching staff very engaged while watching his reps, as Ashten established excellent pad-level and blue-collar drive to win a bunch of 1v1 reps that I had a front row seat for on Monday. His recruiting has surely picked up steam after Monday, as the Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase alum picked up his first Division 1 offer from South Dakota and another offer from Dordt as one that really showed why in the live eval why we have him in our top 10 in the 2027 class in the Dakotas.

Easily one of my favorite uncommitted offensive linemen from the SDSU Prospect Camp on Monday was the live eval put together by Lakeville North's [player_tooltip player_id='1665770' first='Matt' last='Popp']. He generated in my eyes, some of the most powerful hands and didn't take long to drive his leverage with his big hands into the second level. Matt was one that got on my radar last year at the Minnesconsin MEGA Camp and the growth I saw in the live eval in Brookings was substancial since then especially with his athleticism he showed off persistently with his first step. He was also one of the best offensive linemen in attend with refiting his hands, and could suddenly regenerate power at the point of attack. More D1 offers should surely come Matt's way very soon.

We start our content in Brookings with Session 1 which was the OL and DL group as the hogs and dogs woke up early to establish who was the best of the best at the line of scrimmage.
