Prep Redzone Ranking Ramifications, Mark Ferrante Villanova Camp

<ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'1, 210 pounds. A 2027 out of Ramsey HS. </li> </ul>   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Currently ranked as a Top 150 senior out of New Jersey, the former PRZ Showcase attendee attended the most recent string of Villanova camps, with a few of his reps catching my eye. Surprised to see a player of his caliber and production level, show out at events and still have no offer. I implore Davis and family to be patient, good things are headed his way. I don't handle ranking updates in New Jersey, yet from everything I saw of Davis, albeit brief, I can understand why he's ranked so highly on our New Jersey site. A top 20 two-way player with two-way prowess, working reps at backer and back, looking most natural during RB drills. Although Davis produced well at the backer position for Ramsey, I could see a college suitor bringing him in to play back, based on what I saw this past week. Ranking holds true.     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'2, 215 pound 2027 TE prospect out of Marlboro HS. 4.0 GPA, runs track for Marlboro, Is an NHS/DECA member, Benches 285, squats 450 with a 32 inch vert.</li> </ul>   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Currently unranked on New Jersey's 2027 rankings. New Jersey is loaded with talent, so I get how Torres might have fallen through the cracks during the scouting process. Certainly a name to add to our lists in time. Looks taller and bigger than his measurables suggest in person. Caught my eye during routes on air, primarily because of his build. Torres can certainly stand to gain recruiting traction, thanks to his having 3+ minutes of tape on Hudl. Won consistently when aligned against LBs during 1v1s, an all-around consistent performance, should end up ranked on our site with a good first-three this coming Fall.     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'0, 215-pound 2028 LB prospect out of SC Triton. Carries a 4.4 GPA, competes in both football and rugby, and earned Sophomore All Alpha League First Team honors.</li> </ul>   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: An excuse for me to write about a California prospect, my first time doing so. Pleased to head back home and find Jack Weller ranked as a top 150 2028 in all of California, high praise from our PRZ CA site. Unsure of the PA connection, or if Villanova is truly recruiting him, but it says something that he showed up and looked great against Northeast TEs/RBs. I do not handle PRZ California rankings, yet I can understand why Weller is labeled a Top 20 California 2028 backer. I know Cali is brimming with talent, as the pool expands, Weller could drop in number, yet I imagine his true recruiting grade won't change, if not, it could improve. Interesting watch.     6'1, 185-pound 2028 QB prospect out of St. Ignatius Prep (Chicago). Carries a 3.91 GPA, has posted a 4.59 laser-timed 40-yard dash, competes in baseball as a MIF/RHP, and throws an 84 mph fastball.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Currently an unranked 2028 stationed in Chicago, Illinois. Our PRZ Illinois group is arguably the best scouting group within the entire Prep Redzone branch, I have no doubt Hites, if he earns it, will land a spot on the 2028 rankings in time. Injury likely played a part in his current unranked status. I didn't get the best look at QBs during individual drills, yet Hites caught my eye throwing to wideouts during the 1v1 session of the event. Clean, compact, was able to get the ball through a considerable wind/breeze. Hites did enough to earn profile creation. Will keep an eye on him moving forward.     6'0, 170-pound 2027 DB/WR prospect out of St. Augustine Prep.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: One of the higher-ranking prospects in this entire piece. Collier, who transferred to St. Augustine Prep last summer, was not in attendance while I was present at Villanova, yet I heard how special he looked at DB while Collier was on campus about a week prior. I thought I'd still mention Collier in this piece, who apparently was as advertised while at DB. Collier is an FBS-level prospect, and that's unlikely to change, as is his current ranking. I do applaud Collier for branching out to FCS programs close to home, despite the FBS traction he's built throughout the years. Good player here.     6'4, 205-pound 2027 WR prospect out of Eagle Academy II (Brooklyn). Carries a 3.7 GPA and has posted a 4.58-second 40-yard dash.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Labeled a Top 50 senior out of New York, recently picked up an offer from Long Island University, holds a Wagner offer as well. I had the chance to see this young man in person at a 7v7, now at Villanova. Lindor passes the eye test, his frame/build demands attention, his skills back up initial interest based on his size alone. This is a certified D1 prospect, who will likely retain his Division One grade from those ranking in Prep Redzone New York. I appreciate his willingness to compete at DB, yet any time I looked up to see Lindor at wideout, where he's getting recruited, his 205-pound frame was separating from someone. Makes sense why he's ranked an "ATH". There was a ton of talent at DB when I was in attendance, too, this means a ton to evaluators. No uptick in ranking expected, but an uptick in recruiting might happen.     6'4, 230-pound 2028 EDGE/TE prospect out of The Taft School (CT). Carries a 3.7 GPA, competes in football and track, and has posted a 4.68-second 40-yard dash.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Great call here by the Prep Redzone New Jersey ranking staff, having [player_tooltip player_id='1953618' first='Samuel' last='Kilasi'] placed as a Top 300 senior within the state and class. I'd go as far as to say that among DBs, no DB moved better in space than Kilasi. I'd call for a slight bump in ranking, although my opinion can only go so far. Kilasi's ability to change direction and stay balanced is ideal for a DB. Like how he dealt with a bit of physicality, although WRs/TEs can only be so physical at events like these. Regardless, Kilasi's performance stuck with me most among the DB group he was a part of. Exciting player. Going to need recruiting buzz to justify a ranking boost, but I could foresee it coming.     6'4, 230-pound 2028 EDGE/TE prospect out of The Taft School (CT). Carries a 3.7 GPA, competes in football and track, and has posted a 4.68-second 40-yard dash.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Former PRZ PA camp kid. Unranked currently, likely due to his transfer out of Pennsylvania to the Taft School in Connecticut. Was previously looked at as a Top 150 PA 2028, would have seen a ranking rise had he stayed in Pennsylvania. I am taking over ranking duties in New England, so Barima Archampong will still be evaluated by myself. I'm thankful that I got the chance to see him in a live setting again. Unstoppable during 1v1s, Archampong put forth an offer-ready performance, although I get why Villanova and other FCS programs might be wary of offering a 2028 right now. That being said, just too good of an overall DL/EDGE performance to ignore. I'd go as far as to say that Archampong solidified his presence as a Division One-caliber EDGE/TE prospect. Archampong will be ranked accordingly in New England.     5'11, 185-pound 2027 RB prospect out of Susquehanna Township High School (PA). Has posted a 4.58-second 40-yard dash.   Here is the spelling-only corrected version:   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Sadly, due to my movement and angle watching RBs at the time, I'm unsure if the notes I took on RBs match up with Simmons on the field. Was a bit tough identifying numbers and matching things to names/faces. I'm almost certain Simmons was in attendance while I was, and impressed, too. I came away thinking I may be underestimating Simmons in terms of his placement among PA 2027 running backs. He's currently sitting at a Division Two grade on our site, yet I could justify potentially moving him up 25-50 spots after what I saw this past week. Again, not entirely sure based on my view/angle if who I was looking at was Simmons.     6'2, 185-pound 2027 DB prospect out of St. Thomas More (CT). Has posted a 4.50-second 40-yard dash, a 4.15-second 5-10-5 shuttle, and a 35-inch vertical. Earned unanimous All-Region and All-District honors.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Has recently picked up offers from Merrimack and Howard. This is a miss on our New England rankings, as St. Thomas More's Gabriel Goitom is likely a Top 10-15 DB in his class; 34 and a 363 next to his name can't be justified, especially after what I saw in person. Now that I'll be taking over New England ranking duties, Goitom can expect to leap into the Top 150, if not further. Rankings will release before the season begins. Have a serious inclination that Villanova might add their name to the Goitom list of offerees in time. Fantastic DB reps during 1v1s, love his size and stride more than anything.     5'10, 149.8-pound 2029 WR/DB prospect out of Lower Merion High School. Has posted a 4.58-second 40-yard dash.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Excited to learn of a new 2029 prospect while attending a Villanova event this past week. [player_tooltip player_id='2232072' first='Nadeem' last='Williams'] was present, a current unranked 2029 on our site. Williams wasn't even on my radar prior to seeing him work at wideout; he's going to end up ranked thanks to how well he performed against talent much older and more experienced than him. Length, the ability to separate downfield. Love the ball-tracking skills, love the emphasis on release technique at the snap. I know Nova likely wasn't keen on the 2029 activity present, yet I found a potential gem out of Lower Merion HS who might rank high among his 2029 peers thanks to this performance.     6'1, 155-pound 2027 WR/DB prospect out of Pinelands Regional High School. Carries a 3.7 GPA.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Pinelands' Xavier Jones caught my eye while watching Kilasi work at DB. Size is always the first eye-catcher. I admittedly didn't see much of Jones from an evaluator's perspective, outside of a few good reps, but still wanted to mention him in this piece, especially considering Jones didn't have a profile on our site. Thanks to seeing him work in person, I made sure to get him represented in some way. Whether a future ranking comes is up to the PRZ New Jersey brass. Two-way prospect with potential.     6'5, 285-pound 2027 OL prospect out of Cedar Grove. Carries a 4.3 GPA, has earned High Honors, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has posted a 33 ACT score.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Recently received an offer from Ithaca. Very surprised to see Kent not on our New Jersey rankings, even before the offer nod from a local D3. Kent's junior tape on Hudl came out a bit late from what I can tell; that might be the culprit. I do not handle PRZ New Jersey rankings, yet I implore we get him elevated on our site. Won inside and out during 1v1s. I was glued to Barima Archampong; Bryce Kent was one of the few OL present to actually win against Archampong. Kent's lower-body strength and powerful base caught my eye; it was how he was able to handle power/speed combinations, especially while inside. Kent will be ranked in the future. Relatively high as well.     6'2, 190-pound 2029 ATH prospect out of Malvern Prep.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: A 2029 who is squarely on my radar moving forward. I usually don't miss on Malvern Prep prospects; I would have found [player_tooltip player_id='1798405' first='Wyatt' last='Lyons'] in time, yet I'm happy to learn about him via this Villanova event, nonetheless. I would love to learn how Lyons tested, unsure about his L-Drill/40/broad jump numbers, but would learn a lot if I got a hold of those, especially since he's up to be ranked on our site in the coming month. I want to learn as much as I can prior to the incoming update. Will likely be ranked as a linebacker, yet I'll do more digging on his multi-positional potential before ranking. Excited to learn more about the kid.     6'4, 245-pound 2027 DE/TE/FB prospect. Carries a 3.4 GPA, has posted a 4.76-second 40-yard dash, and is a State Medalist.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Was great seeing a prospect I've grown familiar with look great again in person. A damn-near Top 100 2027 prospect in all of Pennsylvania, Upper Dauphin's [player_tooltip player_id='1180678' first='Eoghan' last='Savage'] was present at Villanova's Day 1 camp back on the 16th. I'm a bit biased; I can't help but speak well about Savage from an overall/complete prospect perspective. He checks off so many boxes, love the way he competes and carries himself. I'd be surprised to learn that Villanova doesn't feel the same way. Elite EDGE/DL reps were witnessed. Watching him dominate, I was a bit ashamed that Savage ranks three spots outside of the Top 100; he should be elevated. High praise stacked on high praise. One of the best DL in the entire state was present, always a pleasure to watch him work.     6'1, 195-pound 2028 QB prospect out of Holy Spirit High School (NJ). Carries a 3.6 GPA.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Was part of Day 1 action at Villanova's string of events. Currently a 2028 QB out of New Jersey who is currently unranked. I can see why; he has a ways to go to earn his keep in a loaded 2028 NJ class. Solid size for the position, Durkin is out of Absecon, NJ if my research proves right. I don't rank in New Jersey, yet this is a name I'll throw the team's way, just in case said team thinks Durkin has done enough to warrant a ranking. Profile created, at the very least. Accuracy was Durkin's strong suit, IMO. One of the QBs present that made me look into his background while at the event. Durkin sent a few deep shots downfield that impressed me, looks to have a lively arm. Still things to clean up, good first impression.     6'0, 220-pound 2027 OLB prospect out of Ocean City High School. Carries a 3.5 GPA, has posted a 4.63-second 40-yard dash, is a 3-sport athlete, earned NJ First Team All-State Group 3 honors, and was a District Champion and State Qualifier in wrestling.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: A kid with accolades to his name, already ranked a Top 350 senior out of New Jersey, repping Ocean City HS. I spend my early weeks in August going to Ocean City HS to watch several teams play, good to see a backer out of the program closer to home. Holds an offer from Franklin & Marshall. I didn't get the chance to see Chapman too much, I didn't get the visuals on him that I would have liked, so I can't comment on whether or not he deserves a ranking boost. A local D2 or D3 program is going to land this young man, based on my research. Whoever pulls the trigger and brings him in will be a program that gets better that day. Wish I got to see him work a bit more in person.     6'1, 160-pound 2028 QB prospect out of Kellenberg. Carries a 4.0 GPA.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: A New York 2028 who traveled down to Villanova to garner some recruiting interest. I had no idea he was ranked as high as he is while watching him work in person Thursday. QB play was average at best, I'd say, yet Farrelly looked well above average during 1v1s. I like to gauge QB performances based on 1v1s alone; Farrelly did a solid job hitting the correct shoulder, placing balls where only his target could make plays. I came away impressed with some of the spots he hit, regardless of whether they were completed at the time. I don't rank in PRZ New York, yet I will make sure those who do will know of his relatively good performance this past week; that much I can do. Farrelly is already ranked well among his 2028 peers, so I doubt this performance will move the needle too much. Great seeing him.     6'2, 210-pound 2029 ILB/TE prospect out of Winchester High School.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: A 2029 with great size who caught my attention. I'll be ranking in New England moving forward; this is easily a name I'd stash for a future ranking after watching him work in person on the 18th. I put little stock into 2029s and 2030s at these events; I'm more so looking for underclassmen who warrant some kind of future attention, and Nagler fits the bill. 6'2", 210 pounds, caught my eye during individuals. Didn't get the chance to see him much after, yet he left a good first impression, primarily due to his size and lateral movement skills at his age. Good start, will get him ramped up on PRZ New England.     6'0, 185-pound 2027 QB prospect out of Spring-Ford High School.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Spring-Ford's Pickersgill is a tough evaluation for me. Next 2027 update, he will be mentioned alongside his 2027 QB peers; I just can't put a grade on him without watching him in person, without a bit more production to his name. I like a lot of what I see, this being the second time this offseason I've seen him work in a T-shirt and shorts. Impressed each time. Future ranking incoming, just want to see more. I will say, I'd put Pickersgill up there as one of the three best QB performers throughout the string of Villanova events this past week. That further proves the point; there's someone worth recruiting here.     5'9, 205-pound 2027 LB/RB prospect out of York Catholic High School (PA). Carries a 4.3 GPA, competes in football and lacrosse, and is a member of the National Honor Society.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Not sure how Fitze isn't on our rankings; that's an oversight on my part. A team captain with tape to his name, Fitze out of York Catholic should have been ranked months ago. I'll make sure that changes. Profile created, currently on our watchlist, in good favor with me after watching him work at Villanova. I didn't get the chance to see Fitze during individuals, yet he won a few reps during 1v1s. I made sure to write his name down to get him going in PRZ PA as soon as possible.     6'0, 175-pound 2027 ATH/WR prospect out of St. Mark's School (Southborough). Competes in both football and lacrosse.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: I remember covering Logan Prock for a brief period before my departure from PRZ New England. I'm back to writing and ranking in the area, so I'm excited to get Prock, a 2027 out of St. Mark's School, back onto our rankings. I took a peek at his junior tape at the Villanova event, was surprised to see him unranked, especially considering the amount of tape that is readily available. That will change moving forward. Love that he traveled down to Villanova to compete beside equally talented competition. Villanova deployed several DBs that wanted to impress just as much as he did, with Prock still winning during the 1v1 session of the event. Love Prock late in reps; he looks confident even when the beginning of reps don't go his way. Happy to have seen him in person again.     5'11, 165-pound 2028 WR/DB prospect out of West Chester East. Carries a 3.8 GPA and competes in football, basketball, and lacrosse.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: One of the more polarizing prospects when talking to coaches who are recruiting 2028s in the area. Some love him as a potential Top 100 player; others are a bit lower on him than I am. That being said, I think West Chester East's [player_tooltip player_id='1715070' first='Matthew' last='Kendro'] will be pleased with his updated ranking. After what I saw at Villanova, I'm inclined to give him a slight boost compared to where I had him prior to June 18th's Mark Ferrante Camp. Kendro was one of the lone wideouts to win against DBs I highlighted in this piece. Several of the DBs' performances I lauded, yet Kendro was still able to win against the majority of them listed in this article. Love Kendro early in his reps, specifically his lateral displacement after the snap at the LOS. Kendro is a tough guard at the LOS. If he can master separating downfield, he'll maintain this ranking for years to come.     6'1, 180-pound 2028 WR/ATH/OLB prospect out of Penn Charter. Carries a 3.4 GPA.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: We are expanding our 2028 ranking pool to nearly 500 prospects. McCloud is in the discussion to maintain his current ranking, although competition is mightily on his heels. We would have likely dropped him significantly if not for his solid Villanova performance on the 18th. This was the first time seeing McCloud in person in some time; I was relieved to see he's maintaining good body weight and still flowing well in and out of his routes while maturing into his build. Consistently won reps working inside and on outside-breaking routes. Solid performance that should justify his updated ranking, which will release Monday at noon.     Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Hart earned a sneak peek into Monday's ranking release. Hart earned a move up our board prior to his performance at Villanova, yet he doubled down on that notion and solidified all cause for me elevating him. A compliment to Hart's game: I'm at the point where not much surprises me. I am at the point where I expect him to be one of the better backer performers at events like this. I expect Hart to test well and dominate 1v1s against backs. That's pretty much what I saw watching him up close this past week. More of the same. Just because it's more of the same doesn't mean Hart won't be rewarded; a ranking boost is on its way this coming Monday.     6'2, 160-pound 2028 DB/WR prospect out of Ridley High School.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Not sure how a 6'2" DB out of Ridley HS slipped through the cracks. Profile and future ranking incoming. Tate is currently on our watchlist, but is scheduled to leap off of said list thanks to his performance at Villanova this past Thursday. This was Tate's breakout moment on socials, so it makes sense why I didn't know his name prior. Based on reps I saw of Tate at DB, he has a ways to go in earning a seriously high grade on our rankings. Technique and experience might be lacking, yet there are serious flashes of real talent that could elevate him over other DBs in his area. Tate's rawness aside, he consistently won reps at DB against wideouts much faster and more experienced than he was. Great first impression, excited to represent him on our site this coming Monday.     6'1, 215-pound 2028 OLB/DE prospect out of Wissahickon High School. Carries a 3.24 GPA and is an FBU Alumni and BSU student-athlete.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Not sure how I missed a prospect so close to home. Prior to my attendance at a string of Villanova events, La'Rod Potter wasn't on my radar at all. Had I not watched him perform well among the DL present, he would have missed landing a spot on our upcoming PRZ PA 2028 rankings update. I saw Potter speaking with several coaches present, whether in between drills, during drills, or after the event ended. Potter, along with his sophomore tape, has done enough to earn a ranking spot. Where he'll debut will be a surprise. There's a lot to like here. Excited to potentially see him in person again this coming fall season.     5'11, 170-pound 2028 CB/ATH prospect. Carries a 3.9 GPA, competes in football and basketball, has posted a 4.64-second 40-yard dash, and owns a 405-pound squat, 235-pound bench, and 215-pound power clean.   Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Just in time for our 2028 rankings update that will be released this coming Monday at noon. This is a Dallas junior who wasn't previously on my radar, but watching him perform in person at Villanova, I can safely say this is a name I need to add to our ranking update. A late addition. Easily one of the best DB 1v1 performances I watched this entire offseason, high praise. Prototypical build, the best hips I witnessed out of any DB. Surprised that I'm just now learning about this young man. It goes to show that getting out and watching coverage live helps find new names.
