A current top 150 prospect in Pennsylvania who recently visited Villanova for a game day visit toward the end of September. He is now up to 250 pounds, 10 pounds heavier than the 240 we previously had listed on his profile, and continues to maintain a 3.6 GPA.

He posted his midseason highlight tape on October 1. I’m hoping to see him live before the season ends, although my schedule is already pretty packed.

Checking into his Hudl, his midseason tape runs approximately two and a half minutes and showcases some impressive production through the first half of the season. He has recorded more than 30 tackles, including two sacks and four tackles for loss, along with two pass breakups.

Not bad production whatsoever for the halfway point of the season.

His first rep is a good one and demonstrates exactly what Hart does best. He shuffles with the offensive flow, sniffs out the ball carrier through traffic and hunts the football using his instincts.

That single rep alone embodies what you’re getting out of Hart as a defensive prospect.

He looks extremely comfortable operating as an inside linebacker, aligning between the C gaps before the snap and trusting his ability to read the offense as the play develops.

His second rep is another impressive one. He runs hash to hash, beats the ball carrier to the intended hole and showcases excellent tackling technique to bring him down without any assistance.

Fantastic solo tackle.

What makes this even more encouraging is how well he continues to move despite adding substantial weight to his frame. He is now carrying 250 pounds and still looks comfortable flowing laterally, pursuing the football and arriving at the point of attack with urgency.

An elite run stopper and hole plugger who understands how to navigate traffic and put himself in position to make plays.

You can consistently watch his number flash around the football, even on reps where he isn’t ultimately credited with the tackle. Ball carriers are constantly seeing his number and red jersey appear in their path because of how quickly he diagnoses plays and reacts.

There is very little hesitation in his game, especially when defending outside zone runs. He reads the flow extremely well, identifies where the football is headed and works to beat the ball carrier to the spot rather than simply chasing from behind.

That is what makes him such an effective presence in the middle of the defense.

Hart continues to look like one of the better run defending linebackers in Pennsylvania’s junior class. His combination of instincts, tackling technique, physicality and improved size makes him a difficult player to overlook.

Currently ranked inside the top 150 prospects in the state, he is continuing to justify that placement with his production and overall development.

I would love to get another live look at him before the season ends, especially now that he is playing at 250 pounds. For now, I’m encouraged by how well he is moving and how consistently he is impacting the game against the run.

Chase Hart Chase Hart PA is a football player. As a linebacker, he is a hard-hitting player. He does a good job of reading his keys and attacking upfield. He is a natural inside linebacker with his vision and skills to make plays against offenses. He has an excellent ability to make plays all over the field. Then on offense, he is a legit blocker. He destroys defenders. Then he shows good ability to catch the ball in the open field and make plays. Hart is a good player and is highly skilled on both sides of the ball.

Current Ranking and Potential Bump: Hart earned a sneak peek into Monday’s ranking release. Hart earned a move up our board prior to his performance at Villanova, yet he doubled down on that notion and solidified all cause for me elevating him. A compliment to Hart’s game: I’m at the point where not much surprises me. I am at the point where I expect him to be one of the better backer performers at events like this. I expect Hart to test well and dominate 1v1s against backs. That’s pretty much what I saw watching him up close this past week. More of the same. Just because it’s more of the same doesn’t mean Hart won’t be rewarded; a ranking boost is on its way this coming Monday.

Throughout the event, Hart consistently played with toughness, energy, and a physical mentality that stood out among the talented group of defenders in attendance. He demonstrated strong instincts and pursuit ability, quickly diagnosing plays and attacking downhill with confidence. Hart also showed the athleticism needed to compete in space while remaining disciplined during coverage drills and live reps. His competitive edge and relentless motor allowed him to make an impact throughout the showcase against high-caliber offensive talent. Coaches and evaluators took notice of the intensity and effort he brought on every rep throughout the day. Hart’s combination of physical play and overall defensive awareness made him one of the more exciting linebackers to watch compete during the event. By the conclusion of the PRZPA Exposure Series, Hart firmly established himself as a linebacker prospect whose stock is continuing to rise moving forward.

Chase Hart Chase Hart 6'1" | 240 lbs | LB/ATH Souderton | 2028 State PA is an outstanding linebacker. He has great size (6”0) and is a tackling machine as an inside linebacker. The kid is excellent on film at making tackles all over the field. 7-on-7 is not the best place for that type of talent, so Hart had to adapt. Even though several times he looked like he wanted to destroy receivers, he, of course, did not do that. He showed a good ability to drop in coverage and make plays when the ball is thrown in his direction. He even had an interception. Even though he wanted to hit players, he was excellent.

He should make plays as a tight end during the PRZPA 7-on-7 Classic.
