Here are the top passing yards leaders who are returning this fall.

1. 2,439 yards - [player_tooltip player_id='433165' first='Ty' last='Bouaphakeo'] ('27) - Bennington - 5'11" 190 lbs - (@BouaphakeoTy)

Bennington's [player_tooltip player_id='433165' first='Ty' last='Bouaphakeo'] really took off this season, showing off not just what he can do with his arm, but also the damage he can do with his legs. The Badger's QB returns as the top passing yards leader for 11-man after completing 151 of 242 pass attempts (62%) for 2,439 yards and 30 touchdowns (7 ints). Bouaphakeo also rushed for 911 yards and 12 touchdowns on 159 carries. Ty is a strong-armed QB who shows the poise to sit in the pocket and deliver accurate strikes, or to extend plays and make great throws on the run. Bouaphakeo has an elite deep ball, combining range and accuracy, making him one of the more explosive passers in the state.

2. 2,362 yards - [player_tooltip player_id='1085095' first='Brockston' last='Teply'] ('27) - Waverly - 6'4" 205 lbs - (@brockstonteply1)

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1085095' first='Brockston' last='Teply'] had a fantastic first season with the Waverly Vikings, posting strong individual numbers and helping the Vikings capture their first state championship since 1980. Teply completed 152 of 237 attempts (64%) for 2,362 yards and 27 touchdowns (5 ints) with a 126.2 QBR. Brockston is a tall, prototypical pocket passer who can calmly hang in the pocket and work through his progressions to find the open target. He does a great job identifying defenses and displays the touch to fit the ball into tight windows.

3. 1,950 yards - [player_tooltip player_id='1630183' first='Dave' last='Stansberry'] ('27), Palmyra - 5'10" 150 lbs

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1630183' first='Dave' last='Stansberry'] was still able to put up impressive numbers as he navigated an up-and-down season for the Palmyra Panthers. Dave completes 144 of 282 pass attempts (51%) for 1,950 yards and 16 touchdowns (14 ints). Though Dave may be viewed as "undersized," he can offset that by getting the ball out quickly with quick, smart reads. Dave also showed he can extend plays outside of the pocket with his legs and hit receivers on the move.

4. 1,899 yards - [player_tooltip player_id='611672' first='Jasiah' last='Summerfield'] ('27) - Omaha Burke - 6'0" 195 lbs - (@Summerfield_QB1)

[player_tooltip player_id='611672' first='Jasiah' last='Summerfield'] really exploded in his first season as a starter for the Burke Bulldogs. Summerfield ended his junior campaign with 1,899 yards and 13 touchdowns (7 ints) while completing 128 of 223 pass attempts (57%). Summerfield made significant progress in his development from his sophomore to his junior year, both physically and mentally. He seemed to be playing more relaxed and poised in the pocket, allowing himself to move through his progressions. Solid range with his arm, showing he can push the deep ball.

5. 1,847 yards - [player_tooltip player_id='487734' first='Braylen' last='Warren'] ('27) - Omaha Westside - Mizzou Commit - (@BraylenwarrenQB)

Westside 4-star QB [player_tooltip player_id='487734' first='Braylen' last='Warren'] will return next season as he looks to lead the Warriors back to the state championship game after making it to the Class A semis. Braylen ended the season completing 125 of 202 attempts (62%) for 1,847 yards and 27 touchdowns (6 ints) with an additional 288 yards and three scores on the ground. Since stepping onto the scene as a freshman, Braylen has performed at a P4-caliber level, with a strong arm, high football IQ, solid footwork, and touch to deliver to all levels of the field. Warren has already announced his commitment to the Missouri Tigers and can now fully lock into what should be a great '26 Warriors campaign.

6. 1,818 yards - [player_tooltip player_id='1085642' first='Preston' last='Komenda'] ('27) - Fillmore Central - 6'2" 180 lbs - (@preston_k9)

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1085642' first='Preston' last='Komenda'] is an interesting prospect who broke into the high school ranks as one of the more explosive athletes in his class and has now developed into one of the top passers in the '27 cycle. Preston connected on 108 of his 196 pass attempts, accumulating 1,818 yards and 18 touchdowns (10 ints). Komenda added 134 yards and two touchdowns as a runner with 36 tackles and two interceptions on defense. Komenda is a great overall athlete who is just starting to scratch the surface of his upside at QB. He maneuvers the pocket very well and delivers a catchable ball for his receivers. Good zip to fit the ball into tight windows.

7. 1,804 yards - [player_tooltip player_id='1271571' first='Logan' last='Grosdidier'] ('27) - Millard North - 5'10" 175 lbs - (@GrosdidierLogan)

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1271571' first='Logan' last='Grosdidier'] will look to replicate the success he at Platteview last season at his new school in Millard North. Logan completed 117 of 214 passes for 1,804 yards and 14 touchdowns (5 ints). Grosdidier also showed he's a sneaky dual-threat who reeled off 360 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Having watched Logan since his freshman season, it's clear that his arm strength, touch, and overall decision-making have greatly increased. Good placement on his passes allows his receivers to continue making plays after the catch.

8. 1,636 yards - Kade Hudson ('27) - Boone Central - 6'3" 180 lbs - (@KadeHudson4)

Boone Central's Kade Hudson is a new name to my radar and one that I will be watching closely in the next few months. Kade completed 56% of his passes, connecting on 116 of 206 attempts for 1,636 yards and 13 touchdowns (10 ints). Kade stands out with his size, at 6'3" and 180 pounds, with room to continue filling out his frame.
