Fillmore Central’s Preston Komenda Preston Komenda 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB/ATH Fillmore Central | 2027 State NE is a very interesting athlete who is proving to be one of the more versatile prospects in this class. Komenda stepped in nicely in his first full season as QB1 for the Panthers after throwing for 1,244 yards, 242 rushing yards, 13 passing touchdowns, and four rushing touchdowns. Even with little varsity QB experience, Komenda flashed the arm talent and athleticism to project well to the next level. One thing that stood out the most from Preston’s tape was his ability to look off his first read and move through his progressions while making smart decisions about where to put the ball. He delivers a quick, accurate strike to his receivers and has some really impressive deep passes that he drops right in the bucket. You also get Komenda’s athleticism and speed, which makes him a threat to extend plays outside of the pocket or tuck it and run it himself. Could also receive some looks on defense.

Preston Komenda Preston Komenda 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB/ATH Fillmore Central | 2027 State NE caught my eye way back in June as a key player on Fillmore Central’s 7v7 team at Doane. Preston quickly transitioned into the High School ranks, earning a starting role and ending his year with 30 tackles and 2 TFLs on one of the stingiest defenses in Class C2. What really caught my attention then was Preston’s speed and how fast he could get to the ball carrier. His physicality was also impressive, showing that he could take on ball carriers and disrupt receivers at the catch point. With more opportunities opening up on offense in 2024, expect to see Preston playing on both sides of the ball!
