The Class 6A-1 state championship game is set! #1 Bixby will square off with #3 Owasso in Edmond on Saturday night at 7PM. It will be the third time in the last four years that these two meet with the state championship on the line. Of course, it's a rematch of last year's overtime thriller that was won by the Spartans on a two-point conversion. Bixby has been on top of 6A-1 ever since they entered the class in 2022. This year, they've been considered the best team in the country as well. So it's not surprising to see the Spartans making their 12th consecutive appearance in the state championship game. On the other side you have the Owasso Rams and they've won ten straight since dropping their first two games to Bixby and Jenks. It's the return of Bill Blankenship to a state championship game stage, one that he's very familiar to stand on. In this post, we're taking a look at ten Owasso Rams to keep an eye on Saturday night. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more state championship preview coverage. And be sure to check out our PRZ-Oklahoma YouTube Channel for exclusive (and free) video content, including interviews with both head coaches!

[player_tooltip player_id='587268' first='Brooks' last='Barron'] - Senior Offensive Lineman

Owawso's offensive line in 2024 was arguably the best unit in the state but they came into 2025 having to replace two P4 signees and new faces needed to step up. Senior offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='587268' first='Brooks' last='Barron'] has not only stepped up but he has established himself as one of the better available OL prospects in the state's 2026 class. Barron has always been a '26 OL prospect that we've been intrigued by and his game has absolutely exploded this season. It was easy for Barron to fly under the radar last season but this season, he's been in the spotlight and he's helped pave the way for one of the best running backs in Class 6A-1 this season. He's a late bloomer in the state's '26 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='402368' first='Carter' last='Langenderfer'] - Senior Defensive Back

Senior defensive back and Oklahoma State commit [player_tooltip player_id='402368' first='Carter' last='Langenderfer'] was one of a handful of players that, despite the loss to Bixby back in week zero, still performed very well in that game. The thing that really stood out to us about his performance was how much he was able to help out in run support and we even saw Langenderfer line up on offense at wide receiver at times. The overall theme for Owasso's defense this season has been improvement considering how inexperienced they were coming into this season. But Langenderfer was one of the few returning starters from last year's team. He's played like a team leader throughout this season and that'll be needed Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1414201' first='Chris' last='Zaferes'] - Senior Linebacker

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1414201' first='Chris' last='Zaferes'] is a perfect example of the ultimate team player and will do whatever the team needs him to do to be successful. Last season, Zaferes was part of a legitimate three-headed monster at the running back position. This season, he's one of the team's leading tacklers on defense and leads the team in sacks. Zaferes has been outstanding for the Rams on the defensive side of the ball. And as Owasso moved into this new defensive system this season, they needed new names to step up as they had to replace the majority of their starters from last year's team. Zaferes has not only stepped up but he's become one of the leaders on this year's defensive unit.

[player_tooltip player_id='696152' first='Cole' last='Campbell'] - Junior Defensive Back

We're fired up to watch junior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='696152' first='Cole' last='Campbell'] go to work on Saturday night. He's been a 2027 prospect that has shown a lot of promise but he's also dealt with nagging injuries, including missing time earlier this season. But Campbell is playing really good football right now and he appears to be healthy and ready to go as we head into the state championship game. Campbell was impactful on defense and in special teams during their semifinal win over Jenks. The Trojans started to gain some momentum and Campbell eliminated it by taking a kickoff 75 yards for a score. There is no doubt that there is a lot of upside with Campbell and we're fired up to see it Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] - Junior Quarterback

Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] will play a big role in the outcome of Saturday night's game. In his first career start, he torched the Spartan defense with his arm and his legs in the 2024 season opener. In the two games against Bixby since? It hasn't gone the way he would hope. But there is no doubt that Frankenfield is one of the state's best quarterbacks and he's definitely in the conversation when it comes to the top 2027 QB prospect in Oklahoma. There is a lot to like about Frankenfield's game. He has a lot of weapons around him and an offensive line that has gotten better all year. The junior gunslinger has had this date circled on his calendar for quite some time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] - Senior Running Back

Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] has been one of the biggest breakout stars of the 2025 football season. He went from splitting carries with two other running backs to being a guy who could carry the ball 25 times and make 150 yards and three touchdowns look easy. Hall is one of the biggest keys for Owasso coming into Saturday night's game. In the last two meetings with the Spartans, Hall has had success running the football. And when we look at his game specifically this season, he's been one of the best running backs in the state, regardless of class. We think Hall is going to be an absolute steal for a college but before that, he looks to finish off his career with a gold ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='911962' first='Julius' last='Wilson'] - Senior Wide Receiver

Senior wide receiver and Oklahoma State commit [player_tooltip player_id='911962' first='Julius' last='Wilson'] has enjoyed a very successful senior season but he's got one more game Saturday night. Wilson first got on our radar during his sophomore season at Holland Hall. He's a two-sport star in football and basketball but it was clear to us early on that his ceiling as an overall college prospect was higher in football. This season, he firmly established himself as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the state's 2026 class. Oklahoma State extended the offer and shortly after that, he committed to the Cowboys. And it should be mentioned that Wilson was one of Owasso's best players during that regular season meeting with Bixby.

[player_tooltip player_id='1830746' first='Ryder' last='Karn'] - Senior Linebacker

We mentioned it with a few other players but the Rams were incredibly inexperienced coming into this season. Senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1830746' first='Ryder' last='Karn'] is another player that has taken advantage of his opportunity to play and produce at a high level. Karn has emerged as the team's leading tackler this season and he's similar to Zaferes where the two of them are absolute menaces on the defensive side of the ball. Karn does an excellent job of getting into the backfield. Granted, for Karn and Zaferes respectively, it certainly helps that they have a future SEC defensive lineman paving the way for them on the line of scrimmage. Karn plays with high energy from start to finish.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217089' first='Tahkari' last='Bethel'] - Senior Wide Receiver

Senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1217089' first='Tahkari' last='Bethel'] emerged at the beginning of last season, dominating the Bixby Spartans as a wide receiver and as a kick returner. That kicked off a breakout season for Bethel but it was one plagued with injuries. This season, he's been right there with Wilson as a top target in the Owasso passing game. In the season opener this year, Bethel got out to a fast start against the Spartans and will look to do the same thing again Saturday night. When Bethel makes a catch in space, he's going to make something special happen. We've been pretty consistent with our opinion of Bethel as a '26 prospect over the last 18 months. He's one of the best offensive weapons in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1179991' first='Tajh' last='Overton'] - Senior Defensive Lineman

Senior defensive lineman and Missouri commit [player_tooltip player_id='1179991' first='Tajh' last='Overton'] has been one of the state's top defensive lineman prospects and frankly overall prospects in the '26 class for a while now. This season, he's backed up all of the hype and played like one of the best in the state. Overton is your prototypical defensive tackles where he will look to set the tone on the line of scrimmage from the opening snap. The Bixby offensive line has some dudes as well and it was fun to see Overton going against that group back in August. Fast forward to this Saturday night and the future Missouri Tiger will be ready for another battle. Overton has had some luck at causing chaos in the Bixby backfield in the last two seasons.
