They beat Owasso 31-17 on Saturday night in a game that was incredibly close throughout, until the Spartans put it away in the final few minutes. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on a dozen players that stood out in one way or another throughout the game Saturday. Six Rams and six Spartans featured below, along with our official game highlights from Saturday's game, as well as our "Instant Reaction" video to get a complete breakdown on the 6A-1 title game.

RELATED

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ngjsjdsN8s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UK7z8e_dX14

6A-1 TITLE STANDOUTS

[player_tooltip player_id='1837024' first='AJ' last='Roberts'] - Senior Defensive Back - Owasso

Owasso senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1837024' first='AJ' last='Roberts'] finished off his career where he started it in Edmond. This offseason, Roberts moved to Owasso and became an instant contributor for the Rams. And in his final high school game, Roberts was one of the best players on the field. The senior cornerback finished the game tied for the lead in tackles with 11 on the night. He also had two tackles for loss, a forced fumble and an interception. The Rams have multiple guys on the defensive side of the ball that are going to end up playing D1 football. Bixby had multiple guys that are future D1 players as well. Roberts showed that he belonged with all of them on the state's biggest stage on Saturday night. Throw on the tape and look at the production.

[player_tooltip player_id='415161' first='Braeden' last='Presley'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Bixby

Bixby senior and Oklahoma State signee [player_tooltip player_id='415161' first='Braeden' last='Presley'] is the first of several Spartans that finished off his career with a bang on Saturday night. Presley led the Spartans wih seven catches for 99 yards. He also turned around and forced a fumble on defense and had seven tackles. We talked with Presley after the game and discussed the fact that the Presley family has had an unbelievably deep impact on this program in the last decade. You can make the argument that Presley's true breakout moment came in the state championship game a year ago. Fast forward a year later and he's finishing off his high school career with another stellar performance and another state championship. What's scary is his best football is probably still ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] - Senior Quarterback - Bixby

Bixby senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] finished off his career with another impressive showing. The senior signal caller finished 19-28 for 236 yards and a touchdown. He also had a rushing touchdown in the win. And we'll just throw this out there, Kirby's individual performance in the championship game wasn't his best. But this is one of the last times we can talk about Kirby as one of the best quarterbacks in the state and we're doing that. Kirby started for Bixby for three seasons, threw for well over 100 touchdowns and led this Bixby offense to perfection this season. We've seen Kirby in action countless times over the last four seasons and the guy is an absolute winner and will help out whatever program he ends up landing, at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='402368' first='Carter' last='Langenderfer'] - Senior Defensive Back - Owasso

It was a solid week for Owasso senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='402368' first='Carter' last='Langenderfer'] as he signed with Tulsa on Wednesday and then had a terrific performance in the state title game. He finished the night with nine tackles and had two come behind the line of scrimmage. In that regular season meeting with Bixby, Langenderfer was one of the best players on the field for the Rams and definitely on the defensive side of the ball. A lot of things that impressed us about his game back in that August meeting were back on display in Edmond. His ability to help the Rams in run support was outstanding. He's a terrific open field tackler and in our opinion, he's one oft the best tacklers in the state when it comes to 2026 defensive back prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id='414994' first='Cord' last='Nolan'] - Senior Tight End/Linebacker - Bixby

In 2022, Bixby's [player_tooltip player_id='414994' first='Cord' last='Nolan'] made several plays as a freshman when Bixby faced Owasso for the first of eight meetings during this four-year stretch. Now a senior and signed with Texas Tech, Nolan was once again making plays against the Rams and he was doing it on both sides of the ball. Nolan scored on a 38-yard touchdown reception on the first drive of the game. He also finished with nine tackles, including two tackles for loss and a sack. It should also be mentioned that Nolan is one of three Bixby linebackers on this breakdown. This position group played lights out on Saturday night and Nolan is not only the alpha of this position group but that goes for the Spartans as a whole. We don't know where Nolan ranks among the all time great Spartans but he's on the list.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] - Junior Quarterback - Owasso

Saturday night's championship game was an absolute slugfest from start to finish and both offenses had to earn everything they got. That's one element that really impressed us about Owasso junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] on Saturday night. If you judge his performance solely by looking at the stat line, you're making a mistake. Frankenfield threw for nearly 300 yards and a touchdown on 21-33 passing. He also added 12 carries and finished with 15 yards. Frankenfield had to earn everything the hard way and Bixby's defense was absolutely relentless in their pursuit of Frankenfield but he was able to chip away at the Spartans. And the toughness he showed, by getting knocked down time after time and getting up was very positive to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] - Senior Running Back - Owasso

Owasso senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] finished the night with 13 carries for 43 yards and he also had two catches for 43 yards. The Spartans did whatever they had to do to keep him out of the end zone and they succeeded. But Hall is a player that we're writing about for the overall impact he's had in the last two seasons. This might be the last time we write about Hall and we're taking this opportunity to mention again how he's one of the best running backs in the state. While Hall might not have had the production that he had in the past two meetings with the Spartans, he was still impactful and opened things up for different players to produce while the Spartans keyed in on him. Hall is undoubtedly a next level talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='1045556' first='Jayson' last='Moll'] - Senior Running Back - Bixby

Hall's old running mate is senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1045556' first='Jayson' last='Moll'] and he made the most of his one season with the Spartans this fall. Moll ran for more than 1,500 yards this season and was absolutely electric in the state championship game. The senior moved over to Bixby shortly before spring ball in May and had a terrific senior season. In the state title game, Moll finished with 22 carries for 169 yards and a touchdown. And that touchdown run was the final carry of his high school career. With Bixby leading by a touchdown with just a few minutes left, Moll put the exclamation point on their state championship victory. He broke off a 36-yard touchdown to give the Spartans their eighth straight title. Not a bad way to finish what has been an explosive high school career.

[player_tooltip player_id='911962' first='Julius' last='Wilson'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Owasso

There were a few players that shined in the regular season meeting back in August and then did it again Saturday night in Edmond. Owasso senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='911962' first='Julius' last='Wilson'] is one of those players. He was outstanding in the regular season meeting and then he did it again Saturday night. He led all receivers with seven catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. Wilson is one of the best available 2026 prospects in the state. He was committed to Oklahoma State but did not sign and is still searching for an opportunity. When you look at the available 2026 prospects in the state as we head further into December, Wilson is near the top of the list, if not at the top. This is two times now this season that Wilson has produced at a very high level against one of the best teams in the nation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1831002' first='Nathan' last='Hobbs'] - Junior Linebacker - Bixby

For the second time this season, Bixby played Owasso and for the second time, junior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1831002' first='Nathan' last='Hobbs'] was one of the best players on the field. In that week zero meeting in August, Hobbs played like a man possessed, finishing with countless tackles, sacks and pass breakups. On Friday night, Hobbs was an absolute nightmare for Owasso to deal with and he was putting a ton of pressure on the Owasso backfield. Hobbs finished with seven tackles, two coming behind the line of scrimmage and a couple sacks. There is no doubt in our mind that Hobbs has been one of the breakout players this season across the state. Before that week zero game in August, we didn't know much about Hobbs but he's been one of the best linebackers in the state this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217089' first='Tahkari' last='Bethel'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Owasso

Owasso senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1217089' first='Tahkari' last='Bethel'] was right there with Wilson as an explosive playmaker on the offensive side of the ball Saturday night. He finished with six catches for 88 yards. He also had three carries for 19 yards and a touchdown. The Rams did what they needed to do to get the ball in his hands and allow him to make plays in the open field. We've watched Bethel four times now in person in the last two seasons, coincidentally, all four times was against Bixby. And at various moments throughout those four meetings, Bethel would steal the show. The two-headed monster of Wilson and Bethel was one of the best receiver duos in the state this season. And just like Wilson, Bethel is a player that deserves to play at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='402387' first='Trey' last='McGlothlin'] - Senior Linebacker - Bixby

Bixby senior linebacker and West Virginia signee [player_tooltip player_id='402387' first='Trey' last='McGlothlin'] led the Spartans in tackles on Saturday night with ten on the night. He was the third member of this Bixby linebacker group that played a dominant game against the Rams. He also had a sack and two tackles for loss in the championship victory. McGlothlin is a 2026 prospect that we've watched quite a bit over the last four seasons. From standing out in various 7v7 tournaments to breaking through on special teams for the Spartans during his sophomore season. Now, McGlothlin is one of the best defensive prospects in the state's 2026 class. He's another great example of this outstanding Bixby defense where everyone swarms to the ball and plays with relentless energy.
