WCAC Capital: Best offensive players from live evaluations

The WCAC recently announced its All-Conference selections for the 2025 season. I had an opportunity to watch all the teams in the Capital Division play at least once in person. Based on that, I will pick one player at each position who I thought played the best overall when I saw them in game action.   This article will feature the selections on offense. (Note: These are the official WCAC All-Conference Selections, not Prep Redzone Maryland).   QUARTERBACKS   First Team   Tristan Saab | DeMatha   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2025/11/IMG_1369-edited.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-2067767" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Tristan Saab - DeMatha</figcaption></figure>   Second Team   [player_tooltip player_id='477500' first='Nyeem' last='Woods'] | St. John's College   BEST LIVE EVAL – Tristan Saab vs. St. Joe's Prep   Truth be told, I thought both Saab and Woods were solid in their season-openers. I give Saab the edge because of the way he had DeMatha's offense moving with no problem against what was then a St. Joe's Prep team, usually the best team in Pennsylvania. Between making solid decisions in the passing game and coming up with a few backbreaking runs, Saab set the tone for a season the ended with a WCAC Capital Division championship.    RUNNING BACKS   First Team   Da'Jon Talley Rhodes | St. John's College   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2025/11/IMG_1046_1c2287-edited.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-2067770" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[player_tooltip player_id='734810' first='Da'Jon' last='Talley-Rhodes'] - St. John's College</figcaption></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='1313563' first='Elijah' last='Lee'] | DeMatha   [player_tooltip player_id='283989' first='Taariq' last='Denson'] | Bishop McNamara   Second Team   [player_tooltip player_id='945023' first='Tyric' last='Powell'] | St. John's College   [player_tooltip player_id='1894673' first='Paul' last='Alston'] | Good Counsel   DJ Hammond | Good Counsel   BEST LIVE EVAL - Da'Jon Talley Rhodes and [player_tooltip player_id='945023' first='Tyric' last='Powell'] vs. Downingtown West    Ok, maybe I'm taking the easy way out here. But, both Rhodes and Powell were big reasons why SJC'S running game was on point against Downingtown West. Rhodes runs through weak tackles, drops his pads on contact, and finishes runs hard. Powell finds lanes fast, anticipates cutbacks, and sees second-level defenders early. The best thing about all of this: they both come back next season.    TIGHT ENDS   First Team   [player_tooltip player_id='1314203' first='Brayden' last='Marko'] | Gonzaga   Second Team   [player_tooltip player_id='402022' first='Rowen' last='Walsh'] | Good Counsel   BEST LIVE EVAL: [player_tooltip player_id='402022' first='Rowen' last='Walsh'] vs. St. Joe's Prep   Granted, Good Counsel didn't fare well at all against St. Joe's Prep. But, neither did Gonzaga when I saw them play Bishop McNamara. Walsh received more targets, made more catches, and accumulated more receiving yards than Marko in head-to-head live evaluations. That allowed running backs [player_tooltip player_id='945023' first='Tyric' last='Powell'], [player_tooltip player_id='212257' first='Breyon' last='Williams'], and Dajon Talley Rhodes to all make an impact in that game.    WIDE RECEIVERS   First Team   [player_tooltip player_id='212349' first='Lavar' last='Keys'] | DeMatha   [player_tooltip player_id='1611686' first='Alex' last='Springs'] | Bishop McNamara   Josh Parker | DeMatha   Second Team   [player_tooltip player_id='1629917' first='Xavier' last='Brown'] | Bishop McNamara   [player_tooltip player_id='402014' first='Kobe' last='Ellis'] | Good Counsel   [player_tooltip player_id='944297' first='Lincoln' last='Shelton'] | Gonzaga   BEST LIVE EVAL: [player_tooltip player_id='212349' first='Lavar' last='Keys'] vs. St. Joe's Prep   <figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2025/11/lavar-keys-website3-edited.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-2067772" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[player_tooltip player_id='212349' first='Lavar' last='Keys'] - DeMatha</figcaption></figure>   Keys didn't score in the game but he had a few nice returns in both the kickoff and punt return game. He also caught a few short passes that he turned in to 10-to-15 plus yard games. You would be hard-pressed to find another player that is as fast and shifty as Keys. He is committed to Indiana.
