Over the last two months, we've been updating the prospect rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma. We finished the update this week with an updated look at the state's 2026 class. We went from a Top 200 to a Top 250 on this update. If you missed it, you can check out the rankings RIGHT HERE. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at the wide receiver position. We take a look at ten wide receivers in this class that have really stood out to us this season. It should be noted that one WR was covered earlier in our Top Five Stock RIsers breakdown.
Norman North wide receiver and Washington commit [player_tooltip player_id='284117' first='Mason' last='James'] is once again the top rated wide receiver in the state's 2026 class and a top five overall prospect. James has been considered that guy since his sophomore season and he's only continued to elevate his game from there. James is widely considered one of the best wide receivers in this part of the country and he had many power four programs coming after him. This summer, James ultimately decided to commit to Washington and has been committed to the Huskies ever since. But because he's one of the state's top prospects, that certainly hasn't stopped other schools from trying to pull him away from the Pacific northwest.

Lawton MacArthur wide receiver and Tulsa commit [player_tooltip player_id='1045555' first='Joshua' last='Rushing'] has been in the same boat as James and a few other guys on this breakdown. He's been on the radar since his freshman season and it's been fun to watch his evolution as a prospect in the 2026 class. Like James, he's always been considered one of the best guys in this class and it's easy to see why. He's a complete wide receiver and while he's also been able to help out the defensive side of the ball in the secondary, there is no doubt that he's at his best on offense. He can beat defenses deep with his speed. He can beat defenses in a jump ball scenario with his size. He can also beat defenses after he makes the catch with his elusiveness.

At this time last year, Owasso wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1217089' first='Tahkari' last='Bethel'] was enjoying a breakout season in the Owasso offense but was also dealing with nagging injuries. This season, Bethel has been one half of a legitimate two-headed monster at the wide receiver position with the Rams. We've seen firsthand how electric and slippery Bethel can be with the football in his hands. He's the perfect example of a "big play" receiver. It doesn't matter if it's him climbing the ladder to snatch a jump ball or making the catch and then making a big play happen after the catch. Bethel is one of the better playmakers in the state and he's been doing it against the top competition for the last two seasons.

Looking way back at some of our notes from the 2022 season, Hugo wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='587266' first='Quincy' last='Shelton'] was one of the very first 2026 prospects we wrote about. As just a freshman, Shelton stood out and it was pretty clear even then that he was going to be one of the top guys at his position in this class. Fast forward three years and that's certainly been the case. Shelton has always been considered one of the very best at his position. He might not get as much pub as some of the other guys in the major metro areas but he definitely belongs in the conversation with them. Just throw on the tape of the last several seasons and you see a player that is one of the better overall athletes in the state's 2026 class.

Hilldale senior [player_tooltip player_id='382955' first='Brady' last='Scott'] has been one of the more underrated playmakers in the state for the last two seasons. This year, Scott elevated his game to new heights, helping lead the Hornets back to the playoffs despite competing in one of the toughest districts in the state, regardless of class. Scott has always been incredibly productive as a wide receiver but it was clear that Hilldale was going to do whatever they had to do to put the ball in his hands this season. Scott was used more than ever in the run game, in addition to being one of, if not the top wide receiver in Class 4A this season. Scott is another example of a prospect that will undoubtedly make his next stop better with him on the field.

You could put Grove wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1045560' first='Isaac' last='Sheffield'] in the same conversation as Scott where he has been incredibly productive this season and should be getting some more looks than he already has. Another thing about Sheffield is there is legitimate speed and athleticism here. The Grove standout is also a star on the track and has put up some really respectable times in the spring. You combine that, with his very reliable hands and that makes him a quarterback's dream for a target in the passing game. Sheffield knows how to get open and make plays. This season, he took his game to new heights and had a terrific senior season. He's going to be a late recruiting cycle steal for someone.

Union wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1451366' first='Stone' last='Turner'] is another example of a 2026 wide receiver that elevated his game to new heights this season. Turner moved from Bixby to Union before last season and this year, he emerged as the team's unquestioned top target in the passing game. Turner produced at a very high level and like we've mentioned with the other 6A-1 standouts, Turner was doing it against some of the best competition in the state. And despite that, he was still finding a way to produce at a very high level. Turner was offered and eventually committed to Colorado State. It wouldn't be surprising to see him in three to four years from now and wonder how more schools didn't see the fit.

Putnam City standout [player_tooltip player_id='587267' first='Savion' last='James'] has been on our radar for quite some time but it's always been for what he's able to do on the defensive side of the ball or as a hybrid athlete type. And while we still like his overall versatility and his ability to play defense, James has felt like he's been on another level this season with his abilities on the offensive side of the ball. Putnam City is in a position at the time this is published where they are one win away from playing for the state championship. James has been a big part of their climb to get there. He's a terrific athlete and to be honest, it doesn't matter what side of the ball James ends up on, he's a next level-caliber athlete and will make someone very smart.

When you're talking about the Bixby football program, it's hard for a player to "fly under the radar" on a team that's considered one of the best in the nation. Despite that, [player_tooltip player_id='1830444' first='Nathan' last='Gonzalez'] continues to fly under the radar and that's a mystery to us. Last season, Gonzalez was a very solid role player for the Spartans and he played that role very well. But this season, Gonzalez has elevated his game to new heights and you can make the argument that he's been one of the best players on this team from start to finish. Just look at his performance in their last game, a quarterfinal win over Union. Gonzalez went for over 100 yards and two touchdowns on offense and then had two interceptions on defense. He's a game changer.

Sallisaw was once again a run-first team this season but that didn't mean they didn't have weapons on the outside. [player_tooltip player_id='1706930' first='Tae' last='Muskrat-Flynn'] is one of the newcomers to the 2026 rankings after we got a chance to check out the film, in addition to seeing him in person back in the spring. Muskrat-Flynn started for the Black Diamonds on both sides of the ball and you could make an argument that he was just as valuable on defense in the secondary as he was on offense. And in all honesty, he could probably play on either side of the ball at the next level. But right now, we like his ceiling just a little bit more on the offensive side of the ball. He looks and feels like a natural playmaker on offense, capable of being dominant.
