Yukon running back [player_tooltip player_id='1829398' first='Prince' last='Charles Shelburn'] kicks off our top newcomers as the #24 overall prospect in the latest ranking update. Shelburn was incredibly productive against 6A-1 competition during his sophomore season. That immediately got our attention. Then we put on the tape and you see a very strong, twitchy running back with a low center of gravity. And here's what's scary about this Yukon product moving forward, he's just scratching the surface. When you look back at Yukon last season, they were splitting carries and now as we look ahead to the 2026 season, he's primed for a bigger workload and what could be even more production. The combination of the film, production and competing against the top competition in Oklahoma, makes Shelburn a fun prospect to watch moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836873' first='Carter' last='Akin'] is the first of three Bishop McGuinness standouts on this breakdown. For those who follow high school football in Oklahoma, it's easy to see why the Irish have several newcomers in our ranks. They made a run all the way to the 5A state championship game that quite frankly, not a lot of people saw coming. And with a solid core coming back, it will be fun to see how far they can go in 2026. With Akin, he's a defensive back that we really like moving forward. He's a hard-hitting athlete that made play after play for the Irish last season. We knew a little bit about him coming into the 2025 season. But after checking him out in person and seeing more film on him, we're sold that he's one of the hardest hitting defensive backs in the state's 2028 class. He checks in at #30 overall.

Bishop McGuinness standout [player_tooltip player_id='1836882' first='Marcellous' last='Tyner'] has to be significantly more confident as he goes into the spring and summer when you consider the season he just had. Tyner was one of the breakout stars in Class 5A and after not knowing much about him heading into the 2025 season, it didn't take long to get used to seeing his name every week. Tyner made huge plays on the defensive side of the ball. He looked like this versatile defensive back that could drop in coverage or blitz and make plays in the backfield or in run support. He brought a little bit of everything to the table for the Irish. Whether it was watching him in person or seeing him on film, we came away from the 2025 season very impressed with Tyner and what he could be for the Irish and beyond. He debuted at #31 overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836884' first='Jr' last='Harris'] is the final Bishop McGuinness prospect on this breakdown but honestly, he might be the most interesting prospect moving forward. Harris is a dynamic athlete that quite literally helped the Irish in whatever way he could during his sophomore season. Because of that, he became one of the breakout stars in Class 5A and we are very excited to see more of him this offseason and beyond. Near the end of the regular season, the Irish lost their starting quarterback and turned to Harris to be QB1. In their semifinal win, Harris had a solid game at quarterback but also returned a kick for a score. That's the dynamic playmaker that we're talking about here. He also showcased a very strong arm in that championship game. We have no idea where Harris projects but he's a fantastic football player.

Crossings Christian wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1603482' first='Garritt' last='Davis'] is a very unique prospect to keep an eye on in the state's 2028 class. He rounds out our top newcomers, checking in at #41 overall in the latest update. Davis played quarterback for Crossings last season, in his first year in the position. He projects to playing wide receiver at the next level but he also mixed in some work in the secondary as a sophomore. We have Davis listed here as a wide receiver despite his film being full of clips from the quarterback position. But when you throw on that film, you see a pretty solid athlete for just a sophomore. Davis has really good size, definitely checks the athleticism box and we're looking forward to seeing him more in person in the near future. Davis could be a guy that's knocking on the door of the Top 30 or 20 by the fall.
