The early period for high school prospects to sign with colleges kicks off on Wednesday and runs through Friday. A second period arrives in early February. Plenty of talented recruits remain uncommitted in Iowa's 2026 graduating class.

Here's a closer look at some of them:

[player_tooltip player_id='283945' first='Jayden' last='Brown'], WR, West Des Moines Valley

The No. 2 receiver and the 10th-best player overall in Iowa's senior class according to the Prep Redzone rankings, Brown has reported scholarship offers from North Dakota State, South Dakota State, North Dakota, South Dakota, Western Illinois and Illinois State. A super athlete with speed, Brown could help plenty of programs by catching passes but might also develop into an impactful safety.

[player_tooltip player_id='1358226' first='Logan' last='Lashbrook'], TE/DL, Janesville

Lashbrook brings an attractive combination of size and athleticism to the field. He could become a productive pass catcher and blocker at tight end. The skill set also works on the defensive front. The in-state schools have shown interest in Lashbrook. He visited Iowa in October and Northern Iowa likes what it sees. It feels like an opportunity or two will come his way with a lot of moving parts in the recruiting process.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221954' first='Cael' last='Roberts'], OL, Southeast Polk

I'm surprised all of the guys on this list remain uncommitted this close to the early signing period. That's especially the case with Roberts, a physical offensive lineman with versatility and plenty of room for further development. He's a multi-year starter in one of the state's top programs at producing talent for the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1692280' first='Trateris' last='Watson'], DL/OL, Davenport North

A mountain of a human, Watson may have the highest ceiling among guys on this list. That's because he's more than just a big body. He's agile and moves his weight around with ease. It's a package that could end up working out as a space eater at D-Tackle or a road grader on the interior of the O-Line.

[player_tooltip player_id='401669' first='Daniel' last='Larmie'], RB, Ankeny

A impact performer for multiple seasons, the Hawk senior has a lot of really good film out and proven production in the state's largest classification. Larmie can pick up tough yards inside the tackles with a burst and another gear to chew up yardage in the open field. Iowa played host to him for a visit at the beginning of the season and schools from all levels are showing interest. Still, he remains available.

[player_tooltip player_id='1234328' first='Lloydson' last='Nyenow Jr'], WR, Cedar Rapids Jefferson

Nyenow Jr. has the height, length, speed and frame that college coaches can dream on. He creates mismatches on the outside by being able to beat the defense in multiple ways. His production is somewhat suppressed by inconsistencies of the J-Hawk offense, but the potential here is through the roof. Nyenow Jr. reported a UNI scholarship offer back in April.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241533' first='Ty' last='Sanchez-Evans'], TE, Mason City

Sanchez-Evans was a bright spot on the Mason City offense in 2025 with 26 Rec for 315 yds, and 106 yards on eight carries. He's all of 6-foot-3, 245 pounds with speed and athleticism. Sanchez-Evans is a mismatch in the passing game and also shows a knack for blocking. And, there's potential for plenty more with development on the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1370666' first='Aaron' last='Honore'], DB/ATH, Iowa City Regina

Honore gets overshadowed at times when scouting his work with the Regals and on the 7-on-7 circuit, but a college could benefit from his untapped potential. His projectable frame can add mass and strength without the loss of speed and athleticism that already leads to production. That should be attractive to programs on the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221959' first='Hayden' last='Bishop'], OL, Cedar Falls

A multi-year starter on a consistently effective offensive line, Bishop possesses many of the traits that would lead to success on the next level. He moves well with smooth footwork and strong hands. Bishops frame is capable of adding good weight and strength, which leaves room for growth before reaching his potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='850243' first='Brayton' last='Alford'], ATH, Kuemper Catholic

Alford has picked up scholarship offers from Iowa State and Boise State recently, confirming what those of us advocating for him saw a while ago. Alford helped the Knights win a state championship by impacting the action on both sides of the ball. An explosive athlete with speed, Alford probable fits best at safety on the level, but a future as a receiver also shouldn't be ruled out.
