may have had the best defensive performance of his career in Cedar Falls.
A rangy defensive back that can help on the backend from sideline-to-sideline, Honore was a name that was constantly mentioned by the announcers for being involved in pass coverage. Surprisingly finishing with just one pass-breakup, Honore used his length and quickness to stymie the Wildcat passing attack.
He finished the evening with a co-team lead in tackles (11) and he was in on the field goal block that forced overtime.

I scouted Honore in person with Regina and again at the Back 2 Ballin 7-on-7 tournament this offseason. He’s a long-limbed, athletic, fast prospect with a reachable high ceiling if it all comes together. It’s an intriguing package of skills that work at multiple positions. Receiver or tight end are viable options on offense. Defensively, safety or linebacker might be his future. Right now, I’d lean to the former but would not be surprised to see Honore move up to the second level in college. It will depend on how his frame develops. Honore runs and changes directions well. His ball skills and long arms create tight windows for quarterbacks.

Honore is a known recruit. It’s just now he’s reaching the upside he’s shown for awhile. And it feels like there’s more in the tank before he hits his ceiling. Honore is a long athlete that appears comfortable lining up as an outside receiver or sticking on pass catchers in coverage. He runs well and has long arms. Honore’s frame looks capable of taking on mass without the loss of athleticism. That means the door can remain open to multiple positional possibilities.

While the Regals’ secondary struggled to contain the outside-run game for Wilton,

gave a strong effort as the most reliable player in covering the outside zones. Honore finished the night with a team-high 11 tackles (10 solo), along with 1 TFL. Honore proved to be the last line of defense in most of these cases, doing a great job at gaining leverage off the snap and running through his blockers to get into the backfield, not allowing himself to get faked by the runner, and showed clean tackling form. Honore has been a bright spot for the Regals’ secondary, and his versatility in coverage and the run-defense could translate very well into the next level.

played a key part on Friday night as Mediapolis struggled to get anything going in the passing-game against Regina’s secondary. Honore would finish the game with 5.5 tackles and an interception. His pick came on a perfectly-timed jump from underneath a deep-seam route, and he returned the pick down the sideline 52 yards. Honore is a tough tackler, and he proved suitable against the Bulldogs in both the run-game and as a gunner on kickoff-duties. Honore continues to grow as a strong athlete prospect in Iowa for the class of 2026.
