A patient, disciplined linebacker that maintains good feet, ready to explode and take off after opposing ball-carriers, Roan Eckhoff Roan Eckhoff 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB/OL Regina | 2027 IA is a prospect that embraces contact and pursues the ball well.
It’s evident in the way that Eckhoff plays that he’s willing to go through blockers to get to the ball-carrier, rather than trying to go around and weave through traffic to make the play. Engaging with offensive linemen or fullbacks in the middle of the field, he’ll pop them in the mouth, disengage and make the tackle on the ball-carrier. Registering 38.5 tackles last season, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Eckhoff had a breakout year and finished with 50+ tackles as a senior.

The 2027 LB out of Iowa made the trip up to Oshkosh, and made it well worth while. Roan surely looks the part at 6’1″ 220 lbs. More importantly he plays the part by being equal parts athletic and physically dominant. The Iowa native ran a 4.66 40, jumped a 9’6″ broad jump, and ran a 6.91 L-Drill. Roan is able to use that explosive athleticism and turn it into power at the point of contact, whether that be redirecting RBs in coverage or shedding blocks. The ’27 out of Iowa is looking like a future steal with his size, explosive agility, and physicality. Don’t miss out.
