Power Scores X Factors: Thomas County Central

From the high school perspective, Thomas County Central is built like an SEC team. Strong, active, physical, and has genetic outliers all over the field. They are undefeated and ranked amongst the best 5A teams in the state according to our power score model. Here are some of their X factors, and they have a lot.    After watching Johnson closely for a few years, Johnson is simply a gamer. When it's time to perform, he does it. He is listed at 6'3 225, and is a tough runner. His athleticism and ability to impact the game as a runner have remained consistent across several years as a starter, but as a senior, he looks more honed in and on time as a passer. He is hitting his receivers in stride and dropping it in over the hands of DBs. Johnson has a few GO5/D1 offers under his belt, and it feels like a given that he will get a shot at that level.     Lawrence, the leading rusher for TCCHS, is one of the best senior RBs in the state, and he hasn't skipped a beat as a senior. He is an elite playmaker in space, both as a rusher and as a receiver. He is quick to his top speed and maintains it to outstride the rest of the defense. Lawrence is explosive, speedy, and a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield. He is a P4 playmaker and is committed to play at Wake Forest.     Watkins is one of the premier 2027 receivers in Georgia and is leading the charge on the outside for Thomas County. You have to love the size/speed profile at 6'2 185. He is a dangerous player with the ball in his hands. He powers through the top of his route, and will improve as his footwork develops. He is a trusted player above the rim, consistently targeted on fades. He not only offers a big catch radius, but he times his jumps well and has good hands/body control in the air to reel in the ball. Watkins holds major P4 offers.     [player_tooltip player_id='1621064' first='Prince' last='Chee'] was a strong breakout candidate coming into his sophomore season, and he is absolutely proving the hype. He is a well-developed player from a physique standpoint with his size and broad shoulders. He has manipulative play strength at the point of attack, creating a dent in the pocket by bull rushing and steering blockers off their platform. His first step explosiveness is impressive, allowing him to shoot gaps and create instant penetration. Chee holds P4 offers and is a game wrecker on the inside. I expect him to remain at the top of the state at his position for the duration of his HS career.     Brooks, one of the best LOS prospects in Georgia, is an easy eval. He is a strong, cut prospect with desirable length and explosiveness. He is quick off the line and uses his length to quickly attack the chest of blockers. He creates separation with his chest, making it easy for him to shed. He flashes good pursuit to the football as well. He is committed to Cal. and it's hard to envision a world where he doesn't contribute quickly out west.     Andrews is traitsy and packed full of raw athleticism. He is quick off the line and light on his feet, helping him penetrate early and threaten both shoulders of blockers. He is heavy mitted, landing strong punches and jarring blockers onto their heels. I am expecting it to be a busy offseason for Andrews, where he will be more firmly on the recruiting scene as a senior.     Ware is perhaps the most shockingly underrecruited player on the TCCHS squad. He is a versatile player in the front 7, projecting long-term as an MLB. He has the size to strike, shed, and hold his own against blockers. He can also drive RBs backwards when he meets them in the gap. It's his speed and pursuit skills at his size that set him apart. He is patient, explosive, and packs a punch. Based on his tape alone, I would think Ware is a P4 prospect, not a guy with just a handful of D1 offers under his belt.     Jester is the most productive player against the ball for TCCHS. Here is what I wrote up on him this offseason:   "Dannell Jester has picked up some steam this offseason and will head into his senior season with several FBS offers under his belt. He floats around 6'0 and has been reported in the 175-180 pound range. He is lean and has plenty of room to add more weight. Jester should be considered an S prospect. He relies on his instincts to patrol center field and meet or beat receivers to a landmark. He takes outstanding angles to the football as a tackler and attacks the trunk of ballcarriers at the point of attack. Jester is a smooth mover with solid measurables. His blend of range and instincts will give him access to different parts of the field."     Korchagin, a Cal commit, is one of my favorite 2026 OL prospects in Georgia. He is well-covered at this point. Andrews is set to help lead the next generation of TCCHS stars. He is already built well for a sophomore, listed at 6'2 230. He flashes impressive lateral quickness, allowing him to shadow ball carriers and cut across the face of blockers. He uses his distance to keep his chest clean and strikes with powerful punches. He works hard to shed blocks and always seems to find his footing and recover. Andrews will generate FBS buzz soon and he is set to play an even bigger role as a junior."     Tulane is getting a steady OL prospect with position versatility in Cooper. The play strength and light-footedness set up the intrigue here. He does a good job creating push, mirroring pass rushers, and getting to the second level. I think his balance is impressive, doing a good job of staying engaged at the beginning, middle, and end of his blocks. He is a tone setter on the offensive front for TCCHS and has been for a few years.
