Brother Rice lost the Boys' Bowl against what is likely the best team in Michigan. Hope is not lost, as this team is still extremely young. Today, I got a great look at some of Brother Rice's best young talent. Here are my impressions.

As competitive as they come. Plus, he passes the eye test. 6'2" is accurate, has long arms, and seems to be filling out his frame well.

As expected, most of Tyler's snaps came at X receiver. He was consistently the #1 target, earning a good number of touches in the quick game. A few catches on speed outs, which usually ended with a minimal gain. Also ran a few comebacks, and one nice double-move go. All in all, I like Tyler's burst and attention to detail on his routes. Not always picture-perfect, but he does the little things much better than most WRs.

Not a ton of blocking opportunities, and zero explosive plays for Tyler today. All-around, it was a difficult day for the offense.

Tyler also earned a handful of reps at DB. He did his job, but it's obvious that it's not his primary position.

Lastly, Tyler is very competitive. He was fully invested in the game and cared deeply about his and his team's performance. A bit emotional at times- but I view that as a good thing as long as it's not toxic.

A ton of pass attempts for Sam, and a big learning experience without a doubt.

On paper, Sam did not perform well, but I honestly don't know who is going to perform well against the CC defense. Sam did miss a few throws. The first play of the game, Sam had an open man down the sidelines, but waited a tad too long, then overthrew his receiver. In short, Sam was a tad late on many throws. On others, he was late and inaccurate, sometimes overthrowing, sometimes underthrowing.

It's obvious that Sam is talented. He's got the arm, has the height, and absolutely has the potential to be a great Quarterback in the Catholic League. I feel that if Sam stays patient with the process and learns to settle down in big moments, he'll be just fine.

One of the best players on the field, and I think the best player for Brother Rice.

Jayden lived up to expectations and more. For one, his size and length are legit. Tall, long limbs, and built extremely well for his age. Give it another year or two, and Jayden should have absolutely elite strength.

I watched Jayden make a number of great plays. Against one of the best O-Lines in Michigan, no less. On outside run plays, Jayden did an excellent job working through blocks, sometimes multiple. Great agility and fast hands when working against the run.

Good pass rush as well. Does a great job firing off the ball and using his hands. Though he struggled recovering, and I thought he could show a little more bend.

Finally, Jayden is a competitive football player. Deeply invested in the game, and showed some frustration at times, though never anything toxic. In most cases, I love when prospects show passion and emotion- you'd be suprised by how many good players seem disinterested.

Another extremely talented, high-upside prospect at Brother Rice. Like the other top talent, Deondre is built extremely well.

Hill did well on both sides of the ball. At running back, it was tough sledding against an elite front 7. Still, I liked his burst, and he tried to lower his shoulder on multiple occasions. I also liked how Deondre always seemed to get upfield at the perfect time. It was tough against the CC defense, and the rushing stats probably won't look great, but I absolutely see the upside at RB.

Defensively, Deondre did a solid job. He's a physical player, and was not afraid to get his nose dirty. Though I thought there were several plays where Deondre reacted a tad late. Quick reaction and full-speed play would explode his defensive efficiency.

Lastly, Deondre is an extremely passionate football player. Extremely competitive, lots of emotion, and I really like that about him. Learn to always channel that emotion in a positive way, and Deondre will be an even scarier player to play against.

He's got all the physical tools. Just needs more all-around polish.

Brother Rice's kick returner, and a very big piece of this offense. The speed was shown on a few occasions, and he was able to earn separation against great DBs. Jacob did not surprise me in the slightest- I've always known that he's a talented football player.

Plus, Jacob is extremely competitive. Cares a great deal about his performance and the team performance.
