2028 QB Report: Stock-Risers and New Additions

<p>We just updated our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/north-carolina/rankings/2028-rankings/">2028 rankings</a>, and we'll have plenty of coverage this week of stock-risers, new additions, and the players that tell the story of the update. Here, we're starting with the quarterbacks, covering every player who either rose or was added to the rankings. Here's our 2028 QB report.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 QB New Additions</h2>   <p>We added two new quarterbacks to the rankings. These guys have had great sophomore seasons in their first extended varsity action.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Morales is one of a trio of talented Country Day sophomores who made our rankings. His touch and ball placement, even under pressure, are excellent, allowing him to succeed on throws to all parts of the field. He's able to manipulate his arm angle to create space in the pocket while maintaining accuracy. And he's getting better as the season has progressed, a good sign for a young passer.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Though he hasn't been a high-volume passer, Williams has been highly efficient for Asheville. He's completing 70% of his passes as a sophomore, flashing the ability to fit the ball in tight windows with velocity. He's inexperienced, but getting better every week. He's not an elite runner, but he's dangerous near the endzone, and has 17 total touchdowns this season.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 QB Stock-Risers</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Bell is a multi-sport athlete who may consider making football the main priority in the future, because he has some crazy upside as a quarterback. He has elite size and controls his body well through a repeatable throwing motion. He's not often asked to make complex reads, but when things break down, he can usually find a solution and deliver with accuracy.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Walden has been among the top quarterbacks in the state this year, regardless of class. He's taken what the defense gives him, but isn't afraid to push the ball down the field when the situation allows. Perhaps most importantly, he's running the ball with much more success than I'd anticipated before the season, which has helped control the pass rush and energized his team.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Brown isn't afraid to attack deep, and why not? He shows excellent touch on throws over the top of the defense, layering throws to intermediate depths as well. He likes to attack the middle of the field, putting stress on the safeties and linebackers. He has excellent athleticism, but hasn't yet shown a ton as a runner. There's plenty there to suggest he could be better in that category, though.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Johnson is getting his first extended action as a true starter this season, and he's playing really well on a team with a lot of weapons. He delivers with accuracy and allows his receivers to maximize their yardage after the catch. He has good velocity on his throws, especially for a smaller quarterback, and does plenty of little things well.</p>
