Whether you love it or hate it, the high school transfer process is a part of our game now. The dust has seemingly settled on the wave of transfers, so we're taking the time to break down a few of the impact transfers from across the state. Here, we're locked in on five impact running back transfers.

Five Impact Transfers Running Backs To Know

[player_tooltip player_id='1634632' first='Jaden' last='Hartsfield'] | Wake Forest

A year after tearing up Nash County, rushing for over 1,400 yards and 21 touchdowns last season at Southern Nash. That included a 200-yard, two-touchdown outing against eventual state runners-up Hunt in the playoffs. His contact balance, vision, and raw speed make him one of the top backs in the state and FCS offer candidate.

[player_tooltip player_id='1678618' first='Kylan' last='Polk'] | Monroe

Polk is a jittery, electric all-around back who thrived at Forest Hills last season, eclipsing 1,000 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets. He's heading across town to Monroe to join a backfield that already boasts a 1,000-yard rusher. The speedy Polk should add a different skill set to the backfield. Expect him to excel in the passing game, too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1687742' first='Damo'n' last='Broussard'] | Hopewell

Broussard is one of our top-ranked running backs in the 2028 class, checking in just inside the Top 50 in the most recent rankings update. He wasn't a high-volume rusher, carrying the ball just 177 times in two full seasons at Carson. He moves to a Hopewell squad that actually ran the ball well last season, despite a difficult schedule. I'm interested to see how the rising junior will split carries with the other guys in that backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='1658600' first='Akshar' last='Barnes'] | Southern Durham

Barnes moves to Southern Durham after 550 rushing yards as a junior for Leesville Road. He has great balance, and he's reliable between the tackles. Southern Durham's entire scheme is built around getting playmakers in space to make plays, so I'm interested to see how Barnes fits there.

[player_tooltip player_id='2063296' first='Camron' last='Lyons'] | Northern Nash

A year after running for just under 1,000 yards and leading Southern Nash in receiving, Lyons is moving across the county to an intriguing Northern Nash squad with plenty of firepower in the backfield. I'm interested to see if Lyons moves to the slot or if he stays in the running back rotations this season as the new guy joining a backfield that returns over 2,600 yards and 39 touchdowns.
