Some of these players were ranked at a particular position. In this piece, we're ranking and evaluating players based on their two-way abilities.    Carmack probably should have made our receiver list, but we'd listed him as a tight end in the system a while ago, and never changed it as he grew taller. He's a matchup nightmare at receiver because of his blend of size, speed, and agility, and that's even more apparent when Dudley trots him out there at safety or corner. He's a rare athlete with huge ability and potential.     Primarily a receiver, Marrow also racked up over 200 yards as a runner and played some free safety. He picked off four passes last year, and West Forsyth deploys him situationally to make the biggest impact possible on the game.     Horton is one of the most physically gifted players in the area. He played a lot as a blitzing linebacker off the edge for Dudley, creating plenty of havoc in the backfield. On offense, he played tight end, receiver, and H-Back on a unit that loves to move players around to create mismatches. His blend of size and speed is rare, and he's the occasional athlete who comes along with the ability to play multiple positions at the next level.     Probably a receiver at the next level, Taylor did a little bit of everything for the West Stokes offense, completing 14 passes, putting up over 350 yards on the ground, and eclipsing 500 yards as a pass-catcher. He also lent a hand on defense, making 17 tackles. Bellerand doesn't have the build of a guy who you'd typically coin "athlete" but this is a ranking of the best two-way players in the Triad, and any list without the two-way lineman would be incomplete. While he's clearly an offensive line prospect first and foremost, he was an important interior defender, racking up 20 tackles and two sacks on the year.     Gist was good enough to crack both our receiver and defensive back rankings, a testament to his two-way abilities. He should probably be getting more Division 1 looks, thanks to his smooth movement skills and the way he attacks the ball in the air. He's a guy we really like, even if he is a newer name to our database.     I'm interested to see how Scott is deployed at Page after excelling at Southern Guilford. The 200-pounder played a bit of quarterback out of necessity last year, but I don't anticipate him having to step in at that position this fall. He's electric with the ball in his hands, and he wasn't a bad all around defender as a box safety, either.     Reidsville was known for its star-studded 2026 senior class, but Whitted was a key player on both sides of the ball for the Rams. He scored four offensive touchdowns, including a long run in the state championship game, and was a stalwart defensively, picking off three passes and excelling in coverage.     Albert's primarily a linebacker, but he played some slot receiver and showed great awareness, toughness, and reliability there. He's put on more weight in the offseason, and that should help him compete as a senior.     Pipkins burst onto the scene as one of Andrews' most important players as a freshman. He picked off two passes as a safety, showing the ability to come down and play the run, as well. He flashed as a receiver down the stretch, catching seven passes in his last three games.
