Expert Analysis
Will Helms | Prep Redzone Scout
Hartsfield put up over 1,400 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground in 11 games, finishing the year strong with 200 yards in a playoff loss to Hunt. He’s so good at subtle movements as defenders approach to turn form tackles into arm tackles, which he can then shed with ease. In 2026, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him have an even bigger senior year.

Hartsfield continues to be the driving force behind the Southern Nash offense. The junior running back is a powerful, physical runner who thrives between the tackles but has enough burst to break big plays when the defense overcommits. He leads the Firebirds with 14 touchdowns and averages 130 rushing yards per game, showing consistency week after week. When Hartsfield is rolling, Southern Nash’s offense controls the clock and sets the tone physically — making him the ultimate X-factor heading into Week 10.

— the driving force behind the Firebirds’ offense. Hartsfield has been on a tear this season, consistently delivering big games and proving himself as one of the most dependable backs in the state.
A tough, downhill runner with excellent vision and burst, Hartsfield has the ability to take over games when he gets in rhythm. His physical running style wears down defenses, while his patience and balance help him find daylight even in tight spaces. Coming off another strong outing, he’s poised to make a major impact in this key conference matchup.
If Southern Nash wants to keep their playoff momentum rolling, Hartsfield will need to set the tone early and control the tempo — something he’s done all season long.

continues to be a model of consistency for Southern Nash, putting together another dominant performance on the ground. Hartsfield carried the ball 19 times for 169 yards and four touchdowns, powering the Firebirds’ offense once again.
Every time Southern Nash needed a big play, Hartsfield delivered — breaking tackles, finding open lanes, and finishing runs with authority. He’s quietly putting together one of the most productive junior seasons in the region.

Jaden has had an excellent offseason at various camps and showcases – I have seen him upclose at VTO and the CFI Carolinas MEGA Showcase, where he placed as a top performer at both events – as an example. Jaden has excellent speed, footwork, and agility with the football in his hands. Those live evaluations, along with the production he showed on the field last season, vaulted him from unranked into the Top 75 overall in the state in the 2027 class. I expect Jaden to continue to rise from a ranking as well as a college interest standpoint this upcoming season.

This was my second time seeing Jaden within the last couple of months, and all Jaden continues to do is impress wherever he goes. Jaden continues to back up what he put on film last season when he rushed for over 1000 yards and 20 touchdowns. Linebackers had trouble covering him out of the backfield during pass game 1 on 1’s, and Jaden looked strong and quick during the cat/mouse 1 on 1 period. If Jaden were a couple of inches taller, I think he would have some offers, but his time will come from a recruiting perspective. It’s no longer a matter of “if” but “when”.

Jaden Hartsfield | RB | Southern Nash High School (NC) | Class of 2027
Voted the top running back at the camp, Jaden Hartsfield out of Southern Nash High School made it clear he’s one of the rising stars in the Class of 2027. Hartsfield put together a complete performance, turning heads with his blend of size, speed, and elusiveness.
Hartsfield has a sturdy, compact build, but moves with the agility and quickness of a smaller back. He was explosive through drills, showing great acceleration, balance, and smooth lateral movement. His ability to make defenders miss in space was on full display, and he ran with the kind of power that makes him difficult to bring down.
With a run-heavy offense at Southern Nash, Hartsfield will have plenty of opportunities to shine this fall. And if this camp was any indication, he’s ready to make the most of them. With a strong physical profile and an advanced skill set for his age, Jaden Hartsfield has all the traits to become a big-time back in the coming years.
