Josiah Sturdivant Josiah Sturdivant 6'4" | 225 lbs | EDGE/LB Wake Forest | 2027 State NC saw his stock take off this spring, making a significant jump in the rankings and entering the season as one of the premier edge rushers in the 919. Sturdivant has the tools to consistently create problems off the edge, showing burst, athleticism, and the ability to disrupt plays in the backfield. His offseason rise has put him firmly on the radar, but now comes the opportunity to back it up on Friday nights. With another productive season, Sturdivant has a chance to establish himself as not only one of the best edge defenders in the Triangle, but one of the defensive names to know across the state.

Sturdivant transferred to Wake Forest and immediately became a pass-rushing threat for the Cougars, racking up eight sacks as a junior. He’s a lengthy defensive end with excellent bend around the edge, which allows him to win with speed. Sturdivant is an ascending prospect who could see his stock soar as a senior.

Josiah is a player with some really good upside here as an edge rusher on the line of scrimmage. Josiah shows some very good speed coming off the edge as both a pass rusher and a run defender. Josiah does a good job of stringing plays out that are attempting to get outside of him, using his hands to strike blockers and read the ball carrier, then shedding and making the play. I think Josiah will be even better when he adds some weight – there are times in the run game where he can play a little high and strong linemen can give him some trouble, but as a pure pass rusher and edge defender, he is close to receiving some offers in my honest opinion.
