PRZ AL Game of the Week: Hewitt-Trussville 4-0 vs. Hillcrest 3-1

Welcome back! We're previewing a huge Week 4 matchup between Hewitt Trussville (4-0) and Hillcrest (3-1)   Both these teams have STACKED rosters, so we're discussing who we think everyone should look out for this week.   As always, check out these prospects' film below! You won't want to miss out on this group.   Let's dive in:   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">OFFENSE</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='401099' first='Dylan' last='Cope'] is an explosive WR who's been finding a ton of success so far this season.   “Cope is a tough guy to stop- with his size and speed, he presents serious matchup problems for opposing DBs. Cope gains tons of separation off his routes, has a reliable set of hands, and can bring in huge receptions all over the field.   It's seriously impressive how easy it is for Cope to get downfield- he has incredible speed and can easily outrun anyone he lines up across.“   Cope has been off to a great start this season, performing well against some really tough defenses/secondaries across the state. It'll be exciting watching him line up against this Hillcrest secondary this week. He has big play potential every snap.      Deuce Alston, a Kentucky commit, has been one of the state's top backs over the last few seasons. He'll present Hillcrest's run defense with some big challenges.   “At 6'0 180, Alston is explosive out of the backfield- he does a great job waiting for blocks to develop and has the acceleration and elusiveness to quickly turn upfield, make defenders miss, and rack up big plays on the ground. Alston is highly elusive, but also has great contact balance- he can play through defenders and constantly finds ways to shed off away tacklers.   Alston is just as productive on passing downs- he's a consistent option for his quarterback underneath who quickly finds ways to get open and has a reliable set of hands.“   Alston is a huge threat out of the backfield that Hillcrest will have to account for. He can beat defenses in so many different ways. I'm excited to see how he'll perform this week-he's been off to a great start this fall.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">HILLCREST</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1645043' first='Jordan' last='Shambley'] is an ascending QB talent who has been lighting it up for Hillcrest so far this season.   "Shambley is a quick processor who protects the ball and accurately delivers it to his WRs every time he drops back- Shambley is excellent at seeing the field and takes only what defenses give him, never putting the ball in harm's way and always finding the open man.   On top of that, Shambley has some serious arm talent he uses to place the ball anywhere on the field. He has great arm strength and accuracy and frequently makes difficult throws downfield and over the tops of defenses.   Shambley is also really mobile and can create plays on the ground with his legs- he's quick, has good speed, and can hurt defenses on designed runs and by scrambling out of the pocket."   We will all have to look out for Shambley this week; he's a talented passer who's putting together a really impressive start to his junior season. Check out some of his clips from the last few weeks and you'll see what I mean:      [player_tooltip player_id='1225969' first='Kahden' last='Smith'] is one of the state's leading receivers; he and QB [player_tooltip player_id='1645043' first='Jordan' last='Shambley'] have been in sync all season long and will have to be accounted for this week.   “Smith is a physical wide receiver who utilizes his size and athleticism to make plays over nearly every defensive back he lines up against. With his speed and quickness, Smith runs great routes, gains tons of separation, and can outrun defenders to make huge plays downfield.   In addition to his speed/explosiveness, Smith has a set of consistent hands he uses to hurt opposing defenses at every level of the field. It's really impressive watching how he secures passes- he does a great job utilizing his size and catch radius to rip the ball away from defenders and make contested catches downfield for huge gains.”   Smith has been one of the state's top WRs over the last few seasons. He's a dominant weapon out wide. I'm excited to see him and Hewitt Trussville's DBs battle it out; we'll have some fun matchups to watch this week.   Make sure you check out some of Smith's highlights from last week, you'll be impressed:     <h1 class="wp-block-heading">DEFENSE</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='828577' first='D'ante' last='Seals'] is a dominant EDGE for Hewitt-Trussville that Hillcrest's offense will have to game plan for this week.   “At 6'3 220, Seals has a great frame, impressive speed, strength, and power that make him a force to be reckoned with as an underclassman. Against the run, Seals can set the edge very well, easily sheds blocks, and brings down the ball carrier behind or at the line of scrimmage.   As a pass rusher, Seals uses his size to his advantage- his long arms allow him to cross over and fly by offensive linemen, consistently winning matchups to pressure and take down opposing quarterbacks.”   Seals has been on fire this season, creating tons of pressure in pass rush and providing great run support off the edge as well. It'll be tough for Hillcrest to slow him down; he's an every-down force on the line of scrimmage.   Make sure you check out some of Seals' highlights below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1622128' first='Will' last='Phillips'], an Old Dominion commit, is a talented member of Hewitt Trussville's secondary who's having a great senior season this fall.   “At 6'3 180, Phillips has great size and provides blanket coverage on smaller targets downfield. He's highly instinctual and is excellent at getting his hands on the ball, consistently breaking up passes and making some incredible interceptions downfield.   Phillips is great at defending the run- he's really athletic. plays with great pursuit, and consistently flies downhill to tackle the ball carrier near the line of scrimmage.“   I've been really impressed with Phillips this season. He's been flying around the field this season and will be a player Hillcrest will have to watch out for.   Make sure you watch some of Phillips' highlights below; he's a talented player having a great start to his senior year.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">HILLCREST</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1128392' first='Zay' last='Hall'], an Alabama commit, is one of the centerpieces of Hillcrest's defense.   “Hall is an athletic defender who can seriously hurt offenses in a variety of ways. Hall is dominant against the run- he flies downhill, fills in lanes, and racks up tackles at and behind the line of scrimmage. It's rare to see opposing RBs get into the open field against him. Hall consistently creates huge problems for offenses up front.   Hall is just as effective against the pass; he's a talented blitzer who can provide great coverage all over the field and make plays every down. It's impressive seeing how well-rounded of a defender Hall is; his future at the high school and collegiate level is really bright.”   Zay has been incredibly reliable for Hillcrest's defense the last few years. Hewitt-Trussville will have its hands full lining up against him; he's a dynamic defender who can cause tons of issues against the run/pass.   Check out some of his clips from this past week:      [player_tooltip player_id='1301251' first='Adrian' last='Love'] is a dominant DL who's made a huge impact on Hillcrest's defensive front.   “Love is an every-down playmaker who can equally disrupt the run and pass down in the trenches. He has a high motor, an explosive first step, great strength, and plays with terrific leverage all of which help him consistently fly through blockers to get to the ball.   Love constantly finds his way behind the line of scrimmage, frequently generating pressure and racking up sacks and tackles for loss.“   Hewitt Trussville will have to find a way to slow Love down. He's a well-rounded DL that can create game-changing plays on any given snap. We'll have to keep an eye out for him this week.   Make sure you watch some of Love's highlights below!
